Mama Mia Pizza and Grill — Restaurant in Delaware

This is why I don’t order pizza delivery… last night was the exception because my wife and I were both exhausted and didn’t want to cook or leave the house again or even really move from the couch so we got on the Slice app to see who delivers to our area. This place looked good and they offered delivery to our house so we gave it a go…

Ordered a half cheese half pep. Everything about the transaction went smoothly until we opened the box to find the toppings all slid off the pizza into one corner of the box instead of on top of the pizza where they should be. I contacted Slice who contacted the store for me and informed me they were sending a replacement pizza. The same driver comes back with an attitude about it saying he made and cut the pizza and the pizza was fine. I showed him the pizza and explained to him that it wasn’t the pizza making process that was the problem it was the fact that the toppings were no longer on the pizza when it got here. I had to point out the differences to him like look at the pizza you’re holding and look at this one. The toppings are ON the pizza you have and are NOT on this one. He eventually took the old one back and gave us the new one, but made a comment about how far we are from the place which made me feel like he was asking for more money for having to come back out. This was really just a very uncomfortable experience for us. I didn’t like the confrontation or the lack of accountability. I doubt we’ll order from here again, delivery...

The pizza was actually good but the cleanliness and sanitary practices of the servers was abominable. One staff was sitting at one of the tables playing in his nose when we walked in. As we stood placing our order, he comes behind the counter and resumes working...my husband asked him had he washed his hands and his reply was "I'm not going to touch anything"....WHAAAAT???? In this post Covid era folks who ought to know better (food services especially) should be even MORE diligent now. But there's more...the staff who took our order came out from behind the counter and proceeded to sweep the floors, pick up the rugs from outside and bring them inside, and then go back behind the counter WITHOUT WASHING HIS HANDS....AND THEN BROUGHT MY HUSBAND HIS FOOD!!! When my husband asked him why he'd bring his food without washing his hands after pulling in rugs his response was "I only touched the plate" and "I used hand sanitizer" (he hadn't done that at all). Nasty is just NOT acceptable!! When we spoke to the owner he was apologetic but also tried to make excuses saying "it's hard to find good people". Good workers or bad, your people MUST know and follow the basic sanitary practices when working with other people's food! They'll only be as lax and unsanitary as the owner allows them to be! We probably won't be going back...which is a shame because the pizza was pretty good...once we got beyond the unsanitary practices and had to fuss to get our food...

I was driving by with family and the two slices of pizza with a drink as the lunch special caught my mom’s eye. We go in and I really didn’t want pizza. Flipped the menu lover and saw sooo many vegetarian options! Super excited!! I got the vegetable quesadilla with extra cheese and the broccoli bites. Both made fresh, with care, very flavorful with the longest cheese pull I’ve had in a LONG TIME. The vegetables were not overcooked and the chef was super nice. Everyone in the restaurant seemed actually happy to be there and serve. I did carry out but I always check restrooms to see if I should eat there. Bathroom SUPER CLEAN and no trash ANYWHERE!! Will definitely be...
