I’ve been to this bakery since high school and have had no problems until today. I ordered a cake for my brother’s grad party. When I went to pick it up noticing that his name was spelled wrong, although I spelled it correctly in the message for the order, they negated to check the spelling on the cake with the email in which I said it was fine because you couldn’t really tell; I also proceeded to show the head staff member the message on my order. Instead of apologizing to me, the workers had an attitude and even after I showed the lady at the front the email she still did not apologize or treat me nicely…though SHE insisted that it was fixed. When she asked another member of the staff to try to connect the lettering so it said the right name she said “I guess” in a snarky attitude. The girl that made the comment along with the woman I spoke to and two other girls went to the back before returning with the cake. Again instead of apologizing now another member of the staff informed me of the different color of the icing as one was dried because of being in the freezer and one was fresh as they just fixed the letter, which I had no problem with. And even after paying almost $100 for a cake I was given the wrong change. Last year I ordered a cake with a name that was longer and more complicated than the one this year but everything was fine. I’m not sure where the group that worked on my cake last year were, but I would have preferred working with them over the ones I worked with this year. In the future I hope the staff takes responsibility for their mistakes and are more professional to their customers. The two stars are because the cake came out beautifully but the lack of the others comes from how I was...
Read moreI tried L&M bakery for the first time because a friend of mine stated he wanted his birthday cake from his favorite childhood bakery. L&M family-owned and operated bakery for more than 50 years. The first time I visited on November 30, 2021, there was no line and I was able to walk in and pick up my cake order and a dozen donuts.
I ordered his birthday cake online with 24-hour notice and set my pick-up date for November 30, 2021. The online ordering process was quick and easy. The payment was paid online. I ordered a vanilla cake with banana filling and whipped cream. The cake was delicious, moist, and the bananas were fresh. I paid for the cake online.
The pickup process was fairly easy, I provided my name. There were one or two people ahead of me but the line moved quickly.
I went there recently on February 12, 2022, and ordered a dozen donuts. There was a line outside the bakery however I thought it moved fairly quickly. These donuts are delicious and fresh. The donut selection is pretty good as they have a variety of flavors.
Parking: Street parking and easy to park.
Payments: Credit cards and cash accepted. I believe the minimum credit card amount has to be $10.00.
Seating: No seating you are picking up the order and leaving.
Overall, hands down, this is the best place for donuts. These donuts are big, fresh, and delicious. The next day the donuts were still fresh! They have a variety of donuts which I have not seen from other bakeries. The donuts are beautiful, tasty, and fragrant. My favorite donut spot!
I would recommend L&M Bakery over and over again. The team that works there is very friendly...
Read moreI am writing to express my extreme disappointment with L&M Bakery in Riverside, New Jersey. As a valued customer, I expected a professional and enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, my recent encounter was anything but. I placed a custom birthday cake order well in advance, specifying a purple cake with varying shades of purple. I was initially told there were only two shades available, which I accepted. When asked about icing, I requested buttercream. Upon arrival, I was informed that L&M Bakery doesn't dye buttercream and that I should have used a different term. This was a confusing and frustrating experience, as I had clearly communicated my desired color and icing type. It's disheartening that the staff was unable to clarify these terms or provide guidance during the ordering process. Furthermore, when I attempted to clarify the difference between "died" and "all over" with the clerk who was providing my receipt, the situation escalated. The clerk became dismissive and argumentative, treating me as if I were ignorant or unreasonable. Another clerk then intervened, attempting to berate me in front of other customers. This unprofessional and disrespectful behavior is completely unacceptable. It felt as though my business was not only tolerated but actively discouraged. I urge others to be aware of L&M Bakery's discriminatory practices and to consider supporting businesses that truly value their customers. I will not be returning to this establishment and will be sharing my...
