Palm Trail Grill — Restaurant in Delray Beach

We were excited to finally try this new restaurant right in our own neighborhood based on menu, positive reviews and crowds. The restaurant is pretty with a nice ambiance.. My husband and son approached the hostess stand to check in for our reservation right on time. The hostess in her purple pigtails could not have been any ruder to both.They asked how long the wait would be and she could not give them an answer, just We”ll let you know when your table is ready.. Poor training,? . I approached her to ask if f we could sit at an obvious open table. Turns out she had given our table away to someone with a similar sounding name. Instead of owning the error or apologizing, she snipped back with another off putting response, I pointed out the fact that this was our first time here and that we really were looking forward to dining here, she snipped back again. Seriously, in all of my 61 years I have never been spoken to so rudely in any restaurant. Our group immediately turned around and walked out. In stark contrast we zipped over to Brule for a lovely 5 star meal where were warmly greeted and promptly seated. The competition is way too thick in Delray with so many great options to ever be treated so poorly.,Sadly, though we drive rpast Palm Trail Grill multiple times a day, we will not be rstiooing . When my friend and I first found this place and we went, it was excellent food and great service. Then we went 2 times on a Monday and it went way downhill. My friend got a burnt lamb burger and I had burnt calamari. I didn't complain and just left it. They brought her back a new lamb burger, but this time the French fries were burned Another time we went we had some Hors D'oeuvres and they were not made well like the first time we had tried them. The waiter was great, but I The reason I'm upset and I decided to Write a review is because I called the Restaurant 2 times and left the message that I wanted to talk to the owner about the situation. This Restaurant is quite pricey and I didn't want to return my food the same time as my girlfriend did because I didn't want the waiter to get upset because he had nothing to do with it. But I thought about it and said I would like to talk to the owner because they really should have refunded me. It is not good business when owners don't call you back. He didn't care if we were good patrons or not. We came many times but we have since to go back because obviously he didn't care whether our food was good or bad and didn't have enough time to even call. Really a 4 1/2 star restaurant is a small strip center 1 block west of the Intracoastal waterway. Large outdoor patio. Very eclectic menu and very nice wine list.

I started with the THE PALM Salad, Cucumbers, Plum Tomatoes, Hearts of Palm, Red Onions, Kalamata Olives, Chickpeas, Feta Cheese, and Organic Red Wine Vinegar, EVOO, Oregano, Falafel Croutons, with Toasted Naan and Tzatziki, very good.

My wife only had appetizers, first, BEET WEDGE SALAD, Iceberg, Roasted Red and Golden Beets, Baby Heirloom Tomatoes, Brown Sugar Bacon, Crispy Gorgonzola, and Onion Straws with a Creamy Roasted Tomato Dressing, she loved it. NNext the LOADED BAKED POTATO EGGROLLS, Crispy Bacon, Cheddar Jack Cheese, Chives, and Truffle Sour Cream, very different and good. Finally the HEIRLOOM CAULIFLOWER STEAK, Roasted with Truffle Oil and Parmesan, just ok.

For dessert, she tried the COLOSSAL CARROT CAKE, Walnuts, Cream Cheese Frosting, Edible Gold Glitter, colossal it is is, huge, should be for $ 22.
