March 19, 2025, I attended the 5 course dinner with wine. I drove in from Detroit to attend this event with two my sisters and two friends. My sisters and I (black women) arrived a little early and the area for the event was not sitting participants yet. We were directed to the bar for wait. As we approached the bar, there was one person sitting at the bar, the three of us sat down. The bar maid (white) never greeted us or asked us if we wanted to order. Three white people sat down to our left, the bar maid greeted them and took their order. The bar maid is preparing the 3 white patrons order, I said to my sisters we were here first yet they get service before us. The bar maid in a sharp tone, said, I was already down there. I told her it was the principle we sat down minutes before the other patrons and she did not acknowledge us. She (barmaid) again with a sharp tone, I was there as she gestured towards the other patrons. She slammed a happy hour paper onto the bar as she then asked for our drink order. One sister ordered a water, another had a coke. She (barmaid) asked me for my order I said to her I didn't want anything from her. At no time did she (barmaid) apologize for serving the other patrons before us, and for her tone while speaking. If I was alone, I would've left this restaurant and never return. That encounter set the tone for the evening, what's next. After my sisters got their beverages it was time to move to the event area. We met with a friend and sat at our table while waiting for another lady to join us. My sister Linda and friend Carmen was hyping the place up. It was my first time there and my first event of this type. Luis (owner) gave the welcome and explained the evening to the participants at the event. Carmen asked me if I was having fun, I told her no, my night started off bad already. She wanted to know what happened. I explained to her what happened at the bar. Carmen told me to tell Luis, he don't and won't approve of such behavior from the staff. Luis made it to our table serving wine as he chatted with Carmen. Carmen tells him I had an problem at the bar. Luis ask me, I explained, he apologized. Yet, I was still didn't feel his apology. I'm thinking how many times have black patrons been slighted at this restaurant. Is this how they (owner or manager) handle situations with an apology. If the roles were reversed, how would Luis handle the situation. As for me, I will not return to this restaurant. Nor would I suggest or recommend this...
Read more12/04 my fiancé and I visited this establishment for lunch and was welcomed and sat at the bar by the waitress Olivia we were told they were on their second day “trying out lunch” and Ms. Olivia explained that none of the lunch menu items could be made into a special order because of the newness of said menu. My fiance, someone who has a mild mushroom allergy ordered a lunch sandwich with no mushrooms and a chicken salad; by this time another 2 couples were seated. Looking into the cooking area out of 3-4 cooks, there was 1 actually cooking and it took for Olivia to stand there to make sure things were moving along. By the time his chicken salad came out the other tables had been served and my salad and entree had come. We were irritated but still just ate. Shortly after he was served his sandwich he spit the food in a napkin stating he could taste mushroom. Olivia then takes the food to the back where we watch them pick off the mushrooms and she brings the sandwich back to serve as a new dish. Still giving the benefit of the doubt and keeping our cool, he just asks for the sandwich off of the bill and says that the chicken salad is enough. Which is when the encounter goes left. A cook name Louis decides he’s going to come and check on us and make sure everything’s OK. I’m not sure if it is normal for a cook to come to the front of the restaurant to antagonize a customer about returning something to the kitchen but my fiancé, reiterated the same thing. He’s ok, he just doesn’t want the mushroom sandwich seeing that we watched him pick off the mushroom. Louis, then doubled down to call my fiancés bluff on his allergy and stated “if I were to eat mushrooms and I were allergic I would be having a reaction right now.” He then turns to me and ask “are you sure he’s ok?” as if my fiancé wouldn’t know how he is feeling himself. I feel that we were mistreated and looked down upon and I cannot express the level of embarrassment that I felt. For Louis to take our nice lunch outing and try to turn it into a masculinity match. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to eat here at least not if Louis is the cook. I hate that I even suggested we take the time to go here and I’m so proud of my fiancé for not giving Louis the attention he was obviously looking for. I won’t say that I hope he’s fired but I hope that he is taught the correct way to deal with his emotions as someone who works in...
Read moreWe have been going for about 4 years now. It is always wonderful. But I wanted to leave a review after tonight's visit. I really hope someone at Carrabba's sees this. We arrived around 5pm. It was close to empty, only a handful of other customers. We were seated immediately. Then we waited. And waited. And....waited. Finally a server came to our table and asked if we'd been helped. We told her no and she immediately apologized repeatedly saying she wasn't our waitress but would take our drink orders, give us a free appetizer, and locate our waitress. We had our 5 year old with us and she also offered to get his order, a pepperoni Pizza, put in right away. 😊 Our waitress came, brought our drinks, apologized again for our wait, verified we'd chosen calamari as our appetizer and the pizza for our son. The calamari came, along with the littles Pizza, and it was AMAZING. We have ordered the calamari countless times and this was hands down the best. It tasted fresh, was extremely tender and light. The marinara that comes with it was hot and she brought us a big bowl of it. My husband likes to dip his bread in it. Our soup and salad was great. We both got the shrimp and scallop spedino. Again, we've ordered this entree countless times. It was FANTABULOUS!!! Very hot and fresh. My fettuccine Alfredo was creamy and light, not dense or heavy. There have been times I've gotten it and it was dry. My husbands cavatapi was also heavy on the sauce and hot. Our shrimp and scallops were the best!! Extra lemon butter sauce put it over the top. She brought us more bread and dipping oil, was generous with the oil. Our experience tonight was amazing, above and beyond the norm. You remain our favorite...
