Arrived at 8:30 pm, well after dinner rush—the lobby and dining area did not have many people in it. That being said most all the tables were dirty and the condiment/drink station was abysmal to say the least. There was ketchup and soda all over it, so much so I had to use a napkin to sit my cup down while I grabbed some other items.
I used to manage a restaurant and there's one thing I can tell you. Bathrooms and drink stations are a great litmus test to the cleanliness of the entire store. If their drink station and dining room is dirty, you can guarantee that the kitchen, where your food is prepared, is just as dirty. I make it a habit with any new restaurant I go to check the bathrooms and dining room beforehand to gauge cleanliness. Culver's you have no excuse as you were adequately staffed, low customer cube and having a dirty restaurant.
I fully blame management for not having their crew on the ball and leaving the dining area in disarray, ESPECIALLY after dinner rush when things calm down and there's only a quarter of the seating being used. I travel for work and often come through this area, I will not be going to this particular Culver's ever again, I won't use this experience to keep me away from other Culver's that are managed properly. The management here clearly doesn't care, or is very smooth brained when it comes to running a restaurant. I give 1/5 stars and that's being...
Read moreWhile waiting to order, I saw there was an employee, not in uniform, that was collecting food and helping out. While waiting for my order, I saw the employee I mentioned making the 2 malts I ordered after setting a tablet down and NEVER washing his hands. Imagine my surprise when I also noticed he was not wearing gloves, as he was reaching into the malt powder container. I mentioned it to another employee and asked why he wasn't wearing gloves and was told it was the OWNER (LUKE). I told him I was uncomfortable with the lack of gloves and so the other employee told him. The cups had custard, chocolate and malt powder already. Luke left the cups, put gloves on and continued making the malts. After setting them down, he immediately took off the gloves and made another custard product. This lack of sanitation is very disturbing considering it was the owner, who is supposed to be the role model for the other employees. I also refused to take my number for my order, noting that they were not being sanitized...

OK, look. To be fair, I've eaten like a thousand meals at dozens of Culver's and never been disappointed. The place was crazy busy when we got there, but still... The fries were hot and delicious, but my burger was so overcooked that it was barely edible. I've never had bacon that was overcooked, until today. I was more irritated that we were on a trip and had to wait a half an hour for our food. They offered to remake the meal but we'd spent too much time there, and they offered us a refund, but we'd eaten the food. They did everything they could do to make it right. So I'm not really complaining, I'm just saying if you're in a hurry and they're busy, I'd choose...
