Save your sanity and do NOT stay here. We specifically booked this place because of the pool, dog friendly, and location as Rochelle was a good halfway point for a two day trip. We had booked three rooms with the plan to all hangout at the pool or in a long suite with the dogs staying in the king suite. Upon arrival the pool was "out of order" even though it was full of water. At one point we asked the front desk attendant why it was out of order and he couldn't answer that question, just that it was out of order. When checking in, it didn't immediately pop up we had three rooms. The front desk attendant quickly located the other two rooms, but when we told him the dogs would be in the king suite he told us they weren't allowed in the suites. Which is not stated anywhere on the website. I worked in the hospitality business, I understand there is slightly more cleaning that goes along with a room dogs are in, but they already are charging an extra fee for dogs for that reason. The attendant called I assume the manager/ owner out, but he spoke little English and couldn't tell us why their policy was that way when their website says dogs are allowed in all room types. We finally agreed to keep the dogs in a different room, but they wouldn't downgrade the king suite to a lower class room. The door at the far end of the hotel (opposite the lobby) was marked as exit only making people at the end of the hotel use the front or mid entrance instead. None of the entrances were secure. The downstairs hall smelled of food while the upstairs hall smelled strongly of marijuana. The one room smelled of cigarette smoke even though it was marked as a non smoking. The king suite was nothing to write home about and had a couch sitting in an odd corner on two pieces of lineolium that weren't attached to the ground at all, just laid down over the carpet (see photo). At one point one of our group members went to workout and the gym was also closed. The rooms were very dusty, the one had a huge greasy handprint in the middle of the headboard, and we also found someone's (not from our party) credit card on the ground in the room. Finally, the temperature control I each room was terrible. One room when they put the fan one felt like they pumped cold air in from straight outside and then wouldn't heat back up after. Another room was 85-90 degrees even when set lower. And the last room took multiple attempts to get the heat to stop running even when it was turned off.

I stayed at the Quality Inn this past weekend for my brother’s wedding. The front desk clerk was wonderful, professional, patient, and kind. The lobby was clean and welcoming, which gave me hope. Unfortunately, the room told a very different story. As soon as I drove around back, I noticed most of the window screens were bent or falling off. My room didn’t even have a screen, and since I was on the second floor with windows that opened, that felt like a serious safety issue. Walking in, I was hit with a strong smoke-and-musty odor. The furniture was in poor condition, one chair was falling apart, the other was badly stained. The sheets and mattress protector had visible stains, including what looked like food. The bathroom was dirty: paint chipping, light with no cover, rust on the shower head, mold, and a toilet seat that needed replacing. Even the garbage can was dirty. The iron leaked water everywhere, so I had to buy one at Walmart, along with disinfectant wipes, spray, and a plug-in just to make the room usable. Overall, the stay was stressful and far below basic standards. I usually don’t complain, but these were serious cleanliness and maintenance issues. The only positive was the clerk, customer service was excellent. Sadly, the rooms do not match the lobby or the staff’s effort. I recommend paying the extra $20 to stay at the Comfort Inn down the road, it’s much cleaner, safer, and worth it.

So first we got put in our original room which smells like moldy Mexican food and filled with bugs. After telling us that there’s nothing they can we went back to the front desk to talk again for the third time and magically room opened up. We gladly took it and were happy until we found CLOTHING LEFT IN THE DRAWERS. The clothes looked clean but the means the DONT CLEAN THE ROOMS since stuff is left there. We started searching and found random cream on the night stand, hairs in the shower and on the pillows as shown in images, mold on the trash can lid also shown in images, ripped up desk chair, stain on towels sheets pillow cases and beds, a brown stain on the wall, and many more disgusting stains and smells. DO NOT BOOK HERE.

I am in town because my mother passed away. I've been going all day & all night for over a week, driving back & forth to mchenry where I live. I decided to try & treat myself to a little relaxation for the weekend for the Eatate Sale so I didn't have to drive both ways again everyday for the sale. I specifically picked the room based on the pictures on the app/website. I got to the Quality Inn late at night on Thursday after another 8+hour day.

1st, I do have videos & pictures of everything I'm about to describe. Unfortunately, SMELL isn't something I can capture on video.

That's the 1st thing I noticed. It smelled like old, musty, mildew, moldy basement. Had a very odd, different smell inside the room too. The front desk gentleman was nice, his name is Vamsi. Checked us in, gave us our room number.

1st surprise & inconvenience was he gave us was there is NO elevator!! We're expected to carry 3 days worth of heavy luggage & other home amenities we needed like Medical Equipment!! We went to go up the stairs & the hallway is FILLED!!! with dirty, broken air conditioner units, broken parts, and bags of dirt!! We somehow manage to lug everything up to our room, our hallway is filled with MORE! broken dirty units & scattered broken parts!!

We get into the room. Smell was off....odd. Then I notice immediately that it wasn't even the room I booked in the pictures!! Then I notice how obnoxiously LOUD our air conditioning unit is! Very very loud!! Turn around & the couch is literally next to the hot tub! How can you keep a couch next to a tub?! Keep going & I visually see how disgustingly, very concerning, DIRTY the tub & mirrors are!! There's missing, broken off tiles!

I suffer from anxiety, social anxiety. I immediately started to have a panic attack! How is this facility charging me over $600!!!!!!!!! dollars for 3 nights in this room & hotel?!?! I immediately lugged all my things down all the stairs again. Went to front desk, while having this attack. I verbalized to the clerk, Vamsi. I verbalized how uncomfortable I am. How I'm fearing for my safety & health!! I can not & will not put myself in danger & will certainly not be staying here. I am fearing my safety of my mental & physical Health! There's no way I'm paying $600 for this!

Vimsi was calm. I appreciate that. I was in full blown panic. I'm unemployed, I just spent all my 401k, 10,000!!!, on my Mom's Funeral Services. I'm having an ESTATE SALE to try & recoup loses. I'm grieving. All he said he could do was cancel other 2 days, but couldn't refund that night.

Tried to call Manager, left notes. I DEMAND a Manager or better yet someone higher up to call me to discuss this! There's a serious public health issue at this hotel!! I want all of my money back & I want to discuss extra.

Oh, I'm never recognized as a Choice Member! Neither is my ex. We stay at Choice hotels ALL the time! We usually use his account. I need a call asap! I'd like to talk about compensation & what you'll be doing to fix this hotel!! This place is a public health nightmare! Again, I have video & photos to prove all this!!!

I look forward to discussing...

Initially I stayed for three nights with no problems, the room was decent. I did notice old stains on the sheets and towels that probably should have been treated when it was stained and it wouldn't have left a stain. But the sheets and towels didn't smell. Then I checked out but checked back in for another two night stay and the nightmare happened.

I was given room 108. BEWARE that room smelled like mildew the moment I cracked the door open to enter the room. Well I was tired and I tried to stick it out but within that very hour I went back to the front desk and asked for another room because I couldn't sleep with that mildew smell. The front desk said there were only more expensive rooms available and I wasn't too happy with that suggestion, then he suggested I go next door to the Super 8. Why would someone recommend the competition? Maybe I should've listened. I made a reservation and I thought it was prepaid and non refundable, so I didn't like that suggestion either. So I took the larger room but I immediately knew I wanted to argue the higher price because why not accommodate me when I made a reservation. They gave me room 234, well something was on the bedspread, it looked like hair glue, but I didn't notice until the next day. I didn't say anything, but also the t.v. wasn't working and the wifi signal was terrible in that room. Maybe the signal was bad because some storms rolled through Sunday and Monday night, I don't know. But when I checked out the last time I had multiple charges. I was charged twice for one night and some random charge that no one can explain and the upcharge for the not so nice bigger king suite which I never wanted in the first place. Just scam artists! If you have the time take these people to small claims court, they need to learn a lesson. I gave 3 stars for the rooms because 234 and 102 weren't filthy and didn't smell but that room 108 absolutely smelled like mildew and it was...
