The coffee was good, even though everyone had theirs in a mug and we got given paper cups, but other than the the waffle was good. Eggs were good, ect. The reason I'm giving it 2 stars is it took FOREVER for someone to wait on us. Over 5 minutes. Then the waitress took our order and spent the rest of the time between then and someone else bringing our food out flirting with the table behind us. Then when we got our food they didn't give our sons food to him. So when she was finally done flirting she came and asked how it was... I said we are still waiting on his cinnamon roll, as he has nothing in front of him. She then says she's sorry but they have ran out... so this was knowledge she already knew but failed to tell us. Then she gives us a menu to order him something else and goes back to flirting. I wait a few minutes before just sharing my waffle because by the time she brought something back everyone would've been done. She comes back after he finished half of a belgin waffle and asked what she could get for him... seriously? I told her no we just shared with him. I guess flirting was more important than doing her job. Really sad because the atmosphere was nice, coffee was good, and food was good. She was not. I don't know that we...
Read moreI want to like this place so bad! I just don't - no matter how many times I've tried. Today was the last time I'm trying and the attitude of the barista was absolutely unacceptable. Ordered extra hot lattes and received lukewarm lattes. I informed the barista who made our drinks that they were not hot at all and she said "Well my temperature guage says 160 and that's the temperature it's supposed to be for extra hot." My husband chugged his in three swigs it was so lukewarm, his was worse than mine. As I walked away she loudly said in a very sassy and sarcastic voice "HAVE A NICE DAY MAAM" like I had inconvenienced her or been rude to her or something!! NOPE to that kind of customer service. An "I'm so sorry about that, I will make sure we check the temperature guage to see if it's working" would have gone a lot farther and maybe kept me as a customer. Y'all have fun with that entitled attitude, I'm going elsewhere! Cashier was an absolute doll and so friendly to us and our daughter...
Read moreWanted so much to love this place! They have the absolute best intentions. The good: decent, inoffensive coffee; interesting offerings for snacks, small meals; collaboration with local suppliers; diversity in the workforce. The not so good: rude, insensitive workers at times and at other times, the nicest people ever. Strangely sticky black varnished tables: do they need a good cleaning, or is the varnish compromised and they need to be sanded and redone? The menu is so complex that it can try the patience of not only the staff but the patrons. The coffee, as I mentioned, is inoffensive. That is, it is smooth and uni-dimensional, so if you are seeking nuance and forest shade flavors, you may be disappointed. If they can hone their goals to a less complicated approach, this shop will thrive. I look forward to trying the place again soon to see how improvements are coming along. We are cheering for...
