Hey Sugar Candy and Ice Cream — Restaurant in Denison

Locals, beware of the new management. My family has been regular customers at Hey Sugar, often multiple times a week, since they opened on Main Street in Denison. The candy and ice cream selection is the best around, but it was the environment, and the WONDERFUL staff, that made Hey Sugar a fun place to be. That has recently changed.

I am incredibly disappointed to learn that our beloved Hey Sugar has fallen under new management, who owns other Hey Sugar locations, and her business practices are reflecting gross corporatism over what was once a friendly, small town business that loves and is engaged with their local community.

The new management + owner, the daughter of the great man who formerly managed this Hey Sugar location, abruptly fired all of the existing staff, whom we have grown to know and love, and who always provided stellar service. It is sad that an out of towner has come in to tank a small business that is so loved by the local community, and I hope the community responds by taking their hard earned money to another local business more worthy of our support over this “new and...

Great little candy store that serves good Ice Cream!

I got a two scoop cone of homemade ice cream and my wife got a small cup (2 scoops). We also perused the candy section and my wife got some candy she used to eat as a kid.

The lady that served us ice cream was very knowledgeable and let us taste several flavors. Only reason I gave service four stars was there were three groups that came in after us and she was the only one working. For a Friday night at 8:00 p.m. in your downtown district, You should have coverage so you're one person doesn't have to run back and forth between the register, chocolate counter, and ice cream station trying to serve all of her guests. Great place to have on main Street. They offer a variety of crazy sodas, candy by the pound, homemade icecream, spiked adult icecream and a chocolate showcase with truffles and other yummy options! Lots of fun stuff in here! If you are ever looking for a unique candy this is the place to go! My personal favorite are the chocolate covered Kona and Expresso beans!
