Chicken Express — Restaurant in Denton

Listen-I had a great review in the past about your chicken when we went in person, but now for the delivery service, it was great, but y'all keep overcooking the chicken, and I am very disappointed by that! If this doesn't change, I am going to stop ordering from here, because I paid too much money to be eating overcooked chicken!! I like it more fresh and, of course the fried okra was great. So do something with the fried chicken, and cook it better, or I will order somewhere else!

I thought that I ordered an 8-piece chicken-how did I get breasts?? Come on now! How hard is it to meet my requests unless you ran out of certain pieces, and then I understand! I think I will order at a different establishment-not Hickory Creek--y'all are letting me down!!

Also the chicken breast was too large and overcooked and dry! So disappointed! And oh, no--I found a strand of hair in my mouth!!--I can't do this anymore-I am ordering somewhere else-not here anymore!

Update: I was almost ready to give this a try again. Saturday, (March 1, 2025) our friend got an order of 12-piece chicken with sides. She said 'All dark pieces.' Guess what...we ended up with MIXED CHICKEN instead! There were WINGS in this order instead of thighs and drumsticks!! Y'all--how could we constantly give you business if you're steadily getting it wrong??!! Maybe we just need to stop ordering at Chicken Express period--the one on the Loop let me down numerous times--y'all let me down before, but as I read the other reviews, in hopes that there were improvements, we still aren't getting the service we would have liked!! After arriving home and seeing my order was incorrect, I went back up to get the missing items. One chicken tender and 2 mozzarella sticks. It ended up there was a series of misunderstandings and mistakes on both sides, which started with them entering my order wrong. I wasn't missing the sticks, they just weren't packaged where they would've been had my order been entered correctly, and I didn't search thru everything. Manager told me what I ordered (didn't ask me) and refused to make it whole. After a heated exchange, I left feeling cheated and crummy over a measley amount of product. I've worked food service for several years of my life and would have apologized for the misunderstanding and handed over the little bit that was being asked for. I wasn't asking for a meal replacement or refund, just those three items. Second star only because I've never had a problem with the kids/young adults, and they have the best sweet tea....

The chicken here is good but I am very disappointed in the service. I usually go by here at least 3 to 5 times a week. In the evenings, after work, my wife and I stop by around 5pm and we ALWAYS have to wait at least 15 to 20 minutes for chicken. There is ALWAYS chicken tenders cooked but no chicken. I just don't get it....and it happens 3 out of 5 times that we visit. We leave home for work at 6am daily and when we get off work, we want to grab dinner and get home.....not wait for 20 minutes just to get dinner. I have worked at restaurants and working there, they should know, that at 4:30, start cooking fresh chicken, so it is ready for when people come by after work. I know that I cannot be the ONLY person that has experienced this.

Well.....if I did not live 90 seconds from here, I would go elsewhere. I may start going elsewhere if I have to go thru this much more....
