Stayed in Denton for a few days and our party of 4 stopped in to Loco Cafe after reading some of the reviews. The overall customer service was top notch. The person at the register was friendly, was eager to answer our questions and even made recommendations (which we followed and she didn't steer us wrong). Another staff member provided us with the story behind the Jeff Goldblum cutout/board and how he became the official 'mascot' for the cafe. We enjoyed the napkin-art and the painting on the wall. The coffee was not watered down and was quite tasty. Our 6 year old REALLY enjoyed the milk chocolate. I ordered the Loco Moco and was very pleased with it. The other two adults enjoyed their plates too. We enjoyed this place so much, that we placed a large order to-go the next day. The only thing that we did not like this time was the potatoes. I don't know if it was the oil they were cooked in or if they were old but they did not taste good at all. I'm giving this place 4 stars because the food and service was excellent during our dine-in visit. I'm pretty positive that if we would have brought the potatoes to their attention, they would have offered us new ones, however, we headed back home (to Chicago) after we ate, so we didn't let them know. We'd definitely come back and dine-in, the next time we're in Denton.

Wifey and I noticed people coming out of the Loco Cafe smiling, laughing and hugging so often we had pretty high expectations for this place. So perhaps take this review with a grain of salt because we were sorely disappointed. Not in the service or atmosphere at all, but the food and beverages. I got the snapper tacos and a blueberry cloud cold brew, she got french toast and a mudslide $40 + tip.. you’re looking at around $50 for two people. Both our entrees were dry, lacked flavor, and honestly, a little funky. Does that look like “slaw” on those tacos? It’s an abundance of carrots. The first taco tasted more like carrots than snapper fish, so I had to scrape the carrots off the second. Her french toast was so dry they would have been better described as “sugar biscuits”. Each of us could only get halfway through both the drinks and the plates. Overpriced and underwhelming. Service 10/10 Atmosphere 8/10 Drinks 4/10 Food 2/10

I had the Dynamo Combo, and Loco Coffee. My goodness that was a good meal. The French toast was fluffy, not at all dry, and seasoned to perfection. I had over-medium eggs, and as you can see in the picture, also done perfectly with yokes still running, whites fully cooked and like the toast, not at all overcooked. The Loco coffee was something I will dream about later. Spiced just right, nice big mug, and the frothed milk was light, and delicious. For a place that you order first then sit, which sometimes can lead to inattentive service, that was not at all the case here. Servers were attentive and helpful without being intrusive or annoying. Tables, floors, and visible kitchen areas are kept immaculately clean, bravo! Suggestions to management: complimentary water could be chilled with some ice, especially in this balmy heat, maybe offer one with some cucumber or lemon in it for those that like that.

This morning the wife and I decided we would try Loco Cafe for the first time. I must say, we were not impressed. We both ordered the Moco Loco, which although the posted menu said it was stacked, caught us both off guard when the dish arrived. I would describe it more as a mixed pile of food rather than stacked. The only thing not smothered in gravy was the biscuit.

The sausage patty, which I can only assume was pork, contained so much garlic that it overpowered any other flavors it may have had. The "hashbrowns" were actually an under cooked version of cottage fries made from redskin potatoes. While my wife commented that her poached eggs were perfectly cooked, my over-medium eggs were actually over-hard. But then, who could really tell since everything was covered with a blanket gravy.

The biscuits were unusual, to say the least. Large, rectangular in shape, and flaky thanks to the way the dough was folded before the biscuits were cut. While I felt the flavor and texture was okay, they reminded me of biscuits made with a mix rather than from scratch (as did the gravy). The wife did not care for them. And although we were asked by the young man taking our order what kind of butter we wanted, none was delivered with the order.

Since this was our first time at Loco Cafe, I certainly cannot judge this restaurant's lunch fare. And I will say that we might enjoy some of their other breakfast dishes. But based on the quality of what we had today and the impersonal, self-order style of service reminiscent of a fast food joint, I do not think we will be returning...

Came in to pickup and Uber eats delivery. Walked around the counter and found a shelf with my Uber eats customer’s name on it. The waitress standing there very shortly told me deliveries are placed on a different shelf by the coffee bar. I was alarmed that she was so snippy with me as I almost never have that issue at pickups. I mentioned that there was no sign to indicate that and then waited by the supposed pickup area. She brought the food almost right after and told me actually there is a sign by the door. I told her it may not be a good one if I couldn’t find the pickup area. She was incredibly rude. Short, black hair, tan. Again this was in the morning. I went to the front to find the sign and there was a sign by the door that looked like a menu or specials sign that mentioned waiting for deliveries by the coffee bar at the bottom. Not clear at all. I have never had such a rude experience with a staff during a pickup, they are always kind and helpful. Put up a better sign and train your staff to not be snotty with people, especially the Uber eats drivers as we help your business. I also tried calling to address the issue with someone else at the restaurant but the line was busy every time I tried to call. I will not be back here to pickup your orders, I’ll tell the other drivers I know about my experience as well, and I certainly won’t be...

Very unhappy with my experience here. They are awalk up pay first at the counter resturant masquerading as casual brunch . We order a dynamo combo and johnny attack 2 drink and coffee cake. We sat at our table eating our coffee cake waiting. Cafe was not super busy when we arrives but quickly filled up. We wait a fair amount of time for our food both of us finished the coffee cake and our drinks. when they bring it out packaged to go, we were confused since we never asked for Togo and we were sitting at a table enjoying coffee leasierly. We looking around weconfused thinking maybe this is how they serve food nope other people who arrived after us had food that was plated . I asked the cashier why our food was packaged Togo she was confused also. Their solution is to try to hand us plates and so we can plate it ourselves. I was offended cause it has a feeling of leave now. I am sorry paying $50+ for a breakfast I expect better service then a sketchy burger king. I was having anxiety issues this interaction was stressing me out and left the restaurant. My boyfriend settled with the manger and got a refund, we left the food. Very disappointed how this turned out since I was orginally very excited to try since they had not common breakfast items like johnny cakes. The coffee cake...
