Finally went over to RG Burgers & Grill off 35E and 288 in Denton. Its located by Popcorn and Candy store in a strip mall off of the frontage road. It looks small when you look at it but when you walk in it has plenty of space for tables booths and larger seating tables for large groups. They do serve beer there if you like but on my first visit I only got water and after checking the menu I got the Pancho Villa Burger. It comes with avacado slices, carmelized onions, and pepperjack cheese. The burgers are cooked medium well with just a hint of pink in them plus bottomless fries. This may not apply to some orders so make sure to ask if you looking to get more fries after you finish your first order. The buns are made from sourdough and you can decide to add the lettuce and tomato if you like. I opted to leave them off my burger so when it arrived it looked very good and the steak fries were well made. Not as crispy as I would like them to be but salted lightly and I ate them with ketchup. My first bite of the burger got a little of everything but the pepperjack was a little lacking. I liked the avacado and carmelized onions and the burger patty was cooked just right. I got no spice or taste of the pepperjack cheese and was looking to get a little kick but it just did not come through. Overall the burger was good other than the cheese and would go back again and try some of their other burgers. My burger was around $11 with bottomless fries, which the waiter did not offer to refill. The meal did fill me up enough so I was happy with my overall experience at RG Burgers & Grill. I may even go back and tackle the big multi patty burger. They have many pictures of those that try it all over the walls. It looks delicious and a challenge for sure. I would suggest you give this place a try if you near the area and I'm sure you'll agree that its a great...

I was passing through Denton and my GF was in the mood for burgers. Everyone on Reddit kept mentioning this place, and I was quite surprised. The location alone raises my eyebrow, as its apart of a dying mall strip that doesnt have much going on for itself. Walking in , I felt like I was transported back into the 80s. The dark interior wit half the wall covered in photos, exposed metal panels, brown leather walls, and black ceilings sucks away any lighting that could linger. The menu itself doesnt look like its been updated in decades, but I decided to still go through with this place. Im glad I did!
I went with the spicy all star burger, with the addition of bbq sauce, with onion rings as the side. They made that burger in probably under 10 minutes, which was surprisingly fast for how busy they were.
At first bite, its so damn satisfying! Its hearty, juicy, but also not a sloppy mess. Those sweet sourdough buns remind me alot of Fuddruckers, which I was a big fan of. The onion rings were fried to a delightful crisp! My GF's fried pickles were also quite delicious as well in their texture.
Alot of the views on the visuals of this place are easily forgivable once I had my meal. Honestly this is better than most burgers Ive had when I was in college. And the crazy part was they opened a few years BEFORE I attended college. To think I passed by it without even...

Though I've lived in Denton for nearly 10 years, I had amazingly forgotten how great RG's Burgers are until we revisited recently. We seated ourselves at the request of the waitstaff upon walking in one sleepy Sunday afternoon. The decor is retro-dive, clean with lots of throwback images spread across the walls. My husband ordered a classic cheeseburger with steak fries and I got a standard burger with sweet potato fries - though there are a TON of fancy options that intrigued me, we decided to stick to the basics this time. Both burgers arrived in an acceptable amount of time for a fresh cooked 1/2 pound burger and they were both cooked to perfection. You can order your patty to the doneness of your choice, and as I am currently pregnant, my patty did not have any pink as desired. Though it was further than I usually request, the meat was fatalistically juicy and seasoned throughout. Their classic bun is a soft, slightly-sweet brioche style bun, and the toppings were of excellent quality. My sweet potato fries were seriously crispy which takes some work and the steak fries my hubby had managed to be fluffy, well seasoned, and crispy as well.
If you're looking for a GREAT burger, a fancy burger, a simple burger, a classic burger, even a no-bun burger salad, this is definitely the...
