The rooms were nice, but we had no control of the temperature. The wall control was lit but had no response when trying to adjust. We had to ask for extra blankets. The pics online of the pool are very deceiving. It's like a kiddy pool. Not big at all, too small. I had to wait for people to get out just to wade with my kid. Part of the reason we choose a hotel is the pool. Also, it was annoying having the pool next to the lobby area being looked at from inside. I thought right away that was an awful idea, who would design it like that? Breakfast wasn't anything special. Eggs, sausage, pancakes, hashbrowns. Nothing tasted great other then the syrup on the waffle. The sausage was spicy. The coffee was prob the best part for me, my kids liked the Texas shaped waffles. Parking wasn't too bad but crowded. It was annoying seeing an ev charge point close to the front door. To think I helped pay for that. The staff was nice and took care of other issues in a timely manner. I do think that staff need to be more knowledgeable about the local area. I asked where a good place to eat is, if there's a fun place locally to go for the kids, and what's the best direction to a school and the staff said they had no clue on anything, that they actually weren't from there. Kinda confusing. You work there, but know nothing about the local area? Like you were just visiting like me. The final bill was confusing also. I was told one rate on the phone, a different rate in person, and charged a different rate on the final bill. I was told it would change because they put an automatic $40 on the room charge for candy, soda, or bar area to credit to the room. When we left I didn't pay much attention to it. When we got back home in another state, I seen the room rate plus the other charges and it added up to be a lot more. I was just floored because I paid in cash almost all extras we got. When we went to the pool area we ordered from the bar and charged to the room. But we had different charges on the bill that looked like we didn't pay cash for anything. So a few(3) drinks and few sodas equalled almost $100. My suggestion, don't charge anything to your room. Pay for everything when you get it. Location was pretty good for our reasons visiting. It was between the schools we had to go to. It was nice to have restaurants close by within walking distance even though we got stomach aches at both on the border and olive garden. The local drivers were pretty annoying also. I seen so many people splitting lanes. It causes road rage and traffic jams. They were purposely stopping you from passing, like they own the road and...
Read moreHow was my stay... Wow. Let me enlighten you! To say the least, I feel the only thing I can compliment was the interior look of the hotel. Thats about it. We checked out this hotel online while searching for a place for our wedding party to stay at and thought wow, this is the perfect place to make part of our big dream come true. Did we learn!! It started with the booking. I originally booked a Premium Double Queen Suite that was supposed to comfortably sleep six. I made these reservations several months back in advance and expected to follow through with our reservations upon arrival, check in, and start our weekend! Well, here we are finally checking in and the front desk lady is super nice, We’re excited. After checking in, we open up our door to see that its Definitely a single King bed in there. Its a suite, but a single bed. NOT angry at this point thinking this was a simple mistake/ fix, I called the front desk associate and she explained to me it said on my account that the hotel had “changed my reservations due to availability” and said the only thing she could do was pull me a twin bed up to my room to accommodate my now TWO guests that were without a place to stay. At this point Im irritated but understanding at the fact that the young girl is doing her best to follow procedures, so I ask to speak to someone who could better assist me. The manager then comes over, and explains that the hotel switched it, shes not sure, but shes sorry our guests werent able to sleep comfortably and offered a free snack to some of them. At this point we’re furious, but they know so we just say okay and continue pursuing a wonderful weekend. The next morning, I’m reviewing my bank account on my phone and notice, Im not at all charged for what i was supposed to be charged for. In fact, I paid for someone elses room, As well as someone elses food later because the hotel switched up the cards, and gave ours to someone else. Now the hotel has LOST MY DEBIT CARD, so that was a whole new situation in itself. At this point they have not only messed up our reservations and given them to someone else, they have charged me incorrectly and given my personal banking card to someone else to have full control of. My point being, Management was informed about all of these issues and several more and we were not shown any type of remorse for their inconveniences that caused a domino effect throughout and now after our big trip. Do not recommend relying on this company to stick to keeping your...
Read moreI travel a lot for business, being a part-time meeting planner. This property cannot be beaten. For under $93/night (averaged over weekday/weekend rates with senior discount) it has FAR more to offer than hotels costing up to $200/night!!! The breakfast consisting of custom made omelet, Texas-shaped Belgian waffle, delicious coffee with Irish Cream (I added), assorted fruit, cinnamon/raisin toast, yogurt, fruit/nut/granola bar, was comparable to that of expensive restaurants (where you would pay $15-20 for all that food). Huge flat screen TV in the room (as well as in the breakfast area), pillow top bed (have not EVER slept this well), sofa/chaise lounge in sitting area of room, ultra modern furnishings, beautiful decor, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker with coffee and essentials, 50 channels, and yes, there are two movie channels, wi-fi (I'm on it now . . .easy on too), very comfortable desk chair, free-form pool with Jacuzzi and waterfall wall, large chest for clothing and large closet (by hotel standards), AND . . . the best part for me, a huge walk-in shower with a marble bench and plenty of warm water and the marble vanity and lighted makeup mirror were the absolute icing on the cake. There is also a 24 hour exercise room!!! OMG . . . just called the front desk and asked if I could pay extra to have my son, wife, and grandson join me for breakfast during my stay here and they said: "Sure they can join you and you don't have to pay extra!!!" I've decided that wherever I go in the future, I'm checking to see if a Best Western Premier Hotel is available. I'm also going to try to plan all my Texas association meetings in one as well as other groups I...
