Cheba Hut “Toasted” Subs — Restaurant in Denver

UPDATE: PROBLEM SOLVED! A REFUND WAS MADE THANKS TO THE GENERAL MANAGER AND HIS FAST APPROACHING OF THE SITUATION! I HOPE OUR NEXT VISIT GETS BETTER!!

The worst experience EVER!! I placed an order online and my husband went to the restaurant to pick it up. As soon as he gets there the really unhelpful staff tells my husband they don't have ANY order and sent him to a different location downtown. That's when my husband calls me upset telling me if I paid attention to where I bought the sandwiches...which I DID and my online receipt clearly shows the restaurant located in Colfax. So...my husband has to go back to the restaurant to find out our order was there the whole time just the staff was probably too lazy to noticed...but that's not all! As soon as my husband starts to check on the order...IT WAS ALL WRONG! Even the amount of sandwiches was wrong (we got 2 and we ordered 4) So my husband BACK AGAIN to the restaurant to talk to the manager who was SUPER UNHELPFUL as well. We ended up returning the order and asking for a refund THAT AFTER 3 WEEKS I'M STILL WAITING ON!!! We paid around 60 dollars and I'm not in a place where I can just give away money like this! And we're talking a lot of money here. I demand to get my money back because that day we had to go to a different restaurant to pay for more food! This is beyond ridiculous! We will for sure never go back to that location!! You are the worst restaurant we've ever attended to and the management is so poor it seems...

We used to come every other week, however we had to put our late night cheba huts stops on pause as we just had a baby a month ago. 2 weeks ago we ordered our usual order to go and when my boyfriend came home, my sandwich was completely wrong, for example who puts mozzarella cheese on a kali mist?? :/ my boyfriends order was correct. I tried to eat it but it tasted so weird. I left it alone cause I figured it was late and the restaurant was about to close. Today at 10:45pm, my boyfriend went and got our usual order again and once again it was messed up, this time BOTH sandwiches were messed up. Everything that he wanted on his they put in mine. His sandwich was bland to the point he had to use our mayo from home to at least add a little something to it. Unfortunately it’s a hassle to go back out and take the food back, especially when you’re starving and have a newborn. At least this time we were able to take the loss AGAIN and eat a little bit of the sandwiches.. we’ve never had issues here, and we love coming here, however the last few times makes me hesitant to go back.. I’m not sure if it’s a new crew, my boyfriend says he doesn’t recognize any of the employees from when we used to come in…. It’s unfortunate cause this is the only sandwich...

I live and die by the Death Star (hidden menu) and the 5.0. Great HH, great service, some incredible hot sauce you have to ask for (Jamaican I think?), and perfect place to grab some drinks before you hit a long movie. Whether you just want food or to hit a fun bar, this is a great spot.

Just went this weekend, so adding to my previous review: They pick the right people to be behind the bar, as we get both personality and efficiency typically. Shannon was our bartender this weekend and she was a rock star. They have a HH, and always have drink specials written either on the board to the right of bar or on a sign on the bar. Check them out. Food? The pretzel bites are amazing, the 5.0 is fantastic, and the Deathstar is my personal favorite by far. Decent selection of beers also, and right by the movie theater if you like our system of hitting up here before going to a movie. Finally, and most important, they have a Jamaican hot sauce that is off the hook. Ask for it, pour it on your sandwich, dip your sandwich in it, put it on anything. Great vibe and you should go when...
