I have been distantly aquainted with Duc (pronounced duck) for nearly 12 years now. My husband and I used to frequent his family bakery, Vinh Xuong Bakery, in Denver before we moved. There is nothing this man touches that isn't heaven. I had a meeting with a client and he suggested the Dandy Lion Coffee Co. I'd never been, but as a wheelchair user I have to research these things before I go anywhere. It's beautifully accessible. When you enter the shop, a sense of calm washes over you and I found myself taking the first deep breath of the day. It's a literal jungle inside, with a full mini greenhouse and plants EVERYWHERE. As an herbalist and aromatherapist, I knew instantly that this was going to be my new haunt. As I greeted my client and we walked to the counter, I saw Duc! I hadn't seen him in years and I was so glad to know I was walking into his "home". And it is a home. I know it sounds really cheesy, but as someone who struggles with a lot of health issues, pain and limited mobility; I have a really hard time leaving the house. It has to be for something really special. And the Dandy Lion is exactly that. The pure peace that exists within the walls of that place is a gift, and having experienced first hand the way the family handled their incredibly popular bakery they own in Denver, as soon as I saw his beautiful smiling face, I knew we were in for a treat. And he did not dissapoint! I got the most incredible Chai latte, with the freshest ginger I think I've ever tasted; and a blood orange danish that I can't stop thinking about. If you come here for coffee or tea and don't treat yourself to something that is baked; you are doing yourself a great disservice. I was able to speak with Duc for a bit after my meeting and it felt so much like running into a long time friend. His energy is always so pure and beautiful. His whole family, for that matter. Whether you want a chic new place to write or meet or a nice quiet cup of wonderful; you'll find yourself recommending this place to everyone you know. It's more than a coffee spot; it's an oasis in a busty world. A breath between...

Read moreI am a self-proclaimed coffee snob, having visited countless coffee shops across the nation and abroad. This place tops the list of my absolute favorites, without a doubt! First off, the ambiance is spectacular - cozy, welcoming, several seating options, gorgeous decor and fixtures, and, of course, the variety of plants, everywhere! What a place to sit and relax with delicious coffee and a good book, or good company. Speaking of coffee, what's a coffee shop without good coffee? Thankfully, Dandy Lion's coffee meets the mark...and then some! I ordered a Lavender Latte, and it was THE best I've ever had, anywhere! My mom ordered an Americano and topped it off with cream, and said that hers, too, was the best she's ever had! My sister ordered a chai latte, which she said was delicious. We had a nice chat with the owner, too, who was friendly and welcoming. I'm glad to be supporting a local coffee shop that gets their beans from a local roaster. As for the plants, crystals, jewelry, stickers, etc., everything is fairly priced and high quality, with a great selection. If you're in the area, or even if you're not, I definitely recommend that you stop in and...
