If I could give 0 stars i would. I have order several times food form here for my work and the last two times have been bad. I was told the last time we order to order thought their app or by calling. we did that last Friday. Got a call maybe 5 minutes before i the order should had been ready saying that they did not received my order and that they were barely going to start the order. they explained that the order was received after hours and they did not get it till later in the day. I asked for a refund and went with plan B. We decided to give them a 2nd chance and placed the order at 11am on Thursday to make sure we did not had the same issue. We called at 9am and also around 10 to verify that our order was going to be ready at 11am and was told it would be. I sent someone to pick up our food. Let me tell you we are about 20-30 min from the restaurant, when my coworker arrived aa the restaurant, he had to seat there for almost 40 minutes for our food to be ready after we were told it would be ready by 11am. When I called them they blamed the app Clover and then told me that for an order like ours we need to call to place the order. Customer Service is horrible with them and will not be giving them our business again. Don't get me wrong food is great here but the lack of customer service...

This place is ridiculous either the owner isn't there to see the caous or he just doesn't care. If you slow up to this place eat before coming. You will be seated right away.. acknowledged 15 minutes later. Food will arrive an hour and half later. I'm not even exaggerating . We showed up party of 4 , families continued to show up. There was 4 famines after us 2 of them were served before us. I asked the waitress why ? & she claimed that they ordered their food to go. Obviously a lie. They served 2 different families who had just shown up before us. A gentleman that seen it happened complained ( was also there after us ) & got his food 3 minutes later. They finally brought my food out and only gave us 2 utensils out of 4 of us. I asked for them and never received them had no choice but to eat with my hands(pupusas). I had also requested for our sodas to be brought out at the same time as our food. Never received our sodas we had to walk over to the fridge to grab them....

My 1st time and i absolutely loved it. The food was so good and exceptionally cheap Not Affordable... cheap.... Super BANG!! For your Buck. I will forever be a regular. Customer service was excellent, Bilingual with impeccable perfect English as well. She deserves a raise/ bonus. No matter how busy it got, she never lost her cool, happy Demeanor. Moved extremely fast to get orders out. Whoever the cook was on this day deserves a raise/ bonus as well. The food was sooooo delicious, i didn't mind spilling some on my clothes. I hated i got my meal too go cause i shared with my Best Friend and we were fighting over the last bite and green chili from the smothered burrito. Please DON'T change the...

El Chalate is a lunch staple for me in the Denver area. How many places can you get a filling authentic meal for less than $10? Seems like those places are disappearing quickly from the Denver food scene while Chalate continues to be a working person’s restaurant where you can order pupusas, tacos, enchiladas, chile relleno, burritos, and more. My go to is always the #1 combination which you can see in the photo. I love being able to get the chile relleno, beef burrito, and cheese enchilada in one order. The flavoring of the ground beef is very unique and savory. I also love the cheese they use inside their enchiladas. Muy bueno! This is a great affordable spot in East Denver for Mexican and Salvadoran food - check it out!

I have driven by this place so many times and kept meaning to stop. My daughter and I didn't have anything going on so we did. It was amazing. I had the El Salvadorian breakfast with eggs, rice and beans, plantains cheese, and a sour cream that all work together to be. Probably the best thing I've eaten this month. It was quite busy with the after church and mid-morning Sunday crowd. Still got a table fairly quickly. I was sad as I saw cebada was on the menu but sadly not present. Only put a momentary damper on the incredible tasty, Superior service, amazing Sunday morning breakfast brunch experience. Do yourself a favor. Don't wait 10 years like I did.

The popusas are delicious and best of all if you're into healthy eating, the popusas are grilled not fried. The corn tamales are just the right amount of sweet, and the staff is always super friendly. Not a five star rating because service is a bit on the slow side. It's 3/5/2020 and I am taking a star back. Food is still excellent quality and flavor but I get the feeling that when you place a phone order, even though you are told: "ok, see you in about 15 minutes" they probably don't start your order until you walk in the door. The wait time is unbelievable!
