This spot has always had a nostalgic place in my heart—my granny used to bring me and my siblings here for breakfast all the time, and I still stop by every now and then when I’m in the mood for that comforting, classic diner feel.

On this visit, I came with my boyfriend. We were greeted quickly and warmly by a very kind Hispanic waitress, who made us feel welcome right away. Service from her was great throughout the visit.

One thing I did notice: another staff member seemed to focus her attention only on certain tables. While it’s hard to say for sure, it felt like she avoided serving any guests of color, which was disappointing to witness. I’m not jumping to conclusions, but I can’t ignore what I observed. It didn’t affect our meal directly, but it did affect the overall vibe a bit.

As for the food—we both ordered the Junior French Rancher, and it was delicious. Everything came out exactly how we ordered it, hot and flavorful. Just needed a little salt and pepper to taste, but otherwise, no complaints. The price was reasonable at $13.99 per plate.

I’d definitely come back, though I might stick to takeout next time. The food’s worth it—but I hope the customer service experience feels more consistent across the board...

Be aware! Menu is mis-leading. Ordered a mushroom swiss burger with fries, a side of ranch and extra pickles & onions through GrubHub. Meal arrived much sooner than expected. Hamburger was cooked correctly & was flavored nicely. Fries were crispy & hot. However that is the end of the good review. Regarding the mushroom & swiss cheese - there were a few and I mean a few mushrooms. Even if I spread them out on the meat, there was no way I could have a bite of mushroom in each bite. Very, very little swiss cheese. A little melted glob in the center - about the size of a half dollar. Did they even use a full slice of cheese?? Forgot the ranch dressing entirely and then they charged me for the extra pickles (3 pickle slices & some rings of onion). Just how much do pickles & onion cost? When I called to inquire about the extra charge & the missing ranch dressing, the chick that answered the phone could have cared less. I've eaten at this restaurant for years, now I'm rethinking. Just how desperate are they if their portions are so small that they hardly exist? The delivery driver deserved her tip. The restaurant & their staff did not. Not this time. New owners - you're not impressing me. Talk about...

I work near here and typically tend to shy away from Colfax Restaurants due to bad experiences in the past. In the 17 years at my job, I have been going to Ranch House for 12 of them now. They have very tasty food. Some faves are Bobbis Meatloaf, Ham Breakfast Burrito (the green chili is a little too hot for me, but with sour cream, cheese and some milk it's great! Authentic and great flavor. Obviously Fresh), Eggs Benedict, Mushroom Swiss Burger (I like mine with grilled chicken and avacado when mixing it up), Philly Cheese Steak and French Dip's (really good Ah Jue), Fried Zucchini and Mushrooms and the Chef Salad are my top choices! The staff has always been great and while I take mine to go most of the time, the times I have eaten there, it has been quiet and enjoyable. I do miss Holly, but the new staff seems nice too. If you are in the area and unsure of where to try and you just want a good meal at a decent price and you like variety, I say this place is worth trying. They have a little bit of everything and so far it has all been very good and I am a very picky eater being brought up in a home with a Gourmet Chef...

After a graduation we decided to all meet here for lunch. There are steak and egg specials and I went with the carne asada special. The staff is good and friendly but the food wasn’t great. The prices were super cheap though so I think perhaps my expectations were a little high. It’s not a very clean place either but it’s east Colfax too, those expectations. I will admit the place was busy and even though she was running everywhere our waitress didn’t miss a beat. Fast friendly and got everyones order correct and to us at the same time. I think that is the best thing I can possibly say about the place.

We wanted to try a new place, and we chose the Ranch House. We weren't sure about the place from the look of the outside, but don't let it fool you as it almost did us. Hubby ordered the farmers' breakfast, which included hash browns, chopped sausage, ham, bacon, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms & special seasonings, mixed cheese with 2 overeasy eggs and toast. I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs, which included 2 eggs scrambled, hash browns m, and toast. The coffee was nice and strong, and the food was delicious. We were glad we found another great place to eat.
