Verbena Park — Attraction in Denver

I had a family BBQ here and it's in a reasonable area, but I guess it's not too far away from a little body of water, now with that being said my family and I were literally eaten alive from the mosquitoes it was horrible l, the bums that was left we're swollen and huge and have some type of liquid coming out of them. I don't know what kinda mosquitoes they have here but nothing worked to keep them off of you. It’s our neighborhood park and our family enjoys it. It’s a nice, clean, and functional park, near other open space (which is great if you want to go on an extended walk). The city just remodeled the playground (Summer 2024), which is much nicer, and updated the basketball court (which gets plenty of bball and futsal use), and drainage around open space/kids soccer field. I love that the park gets regular use and that the diversity of the neighborhood is reflected...

Great place for kids. However an enclosure should be put around the sand box or elevate it because some pet owners let their pets defecate in the sand box and unknowing parents or guardians will be unaware of this a let their kids play in the sand box. A fine should be put in place for pet owners that ignore this. A sign should also be put in place making those unaware...
