What makes an exceptional coffee shop? This is where you might go to learn the difference between the many many good - and even great - coffee shops in Denver and the stand-out few exceptional. The baristas are incredibly personable and just downright good humans. They are quick and yet take time to address each customer individually. Quince has Kaldi's coffee available - and a number of different drink choices depending on your preference. The baked goods and empanadas served are local. Quince is incredibly supportive of local companies and artists. The atmosphere is perfect. 3 rooms available to choose from, games and obscure books to use and peruse, rotating artwork on the walls and ...my favorite - the tables are able to be decorated with chalk markers that are on the table. LOVE IT. Last night was open mic night (I believe this is the first Saturday of the month). I thought it would be difficult to make work because while they have a lot of space, the space is split into 3 rooms, but they made a cozy little set in the front room that created a perfect atmosphere for optimal enjoy of the music and poetry from some talented souls. The owner was present and active in introducing the artists and came over to the table my friends and i were sitting at to introduce herself and get our names. Its the little things in life... and its really the little things about this little shop that quickly made it my favorite go-to in Denver. Definitly...
Read moreQuince isn’t the shop you go to for your traditional coffee shop experience, they’re not a shop, they’re a home but if you wanted a cortado they could easily whip up the tastiest one for you. Quince is that little secret you find one day and then you have to bring your friends to every time they’re in town just to share that little bit of magic off East Colfax. Coffee houses like this are hard to find, do they even really exist anymore? Genuinely authentic community exists and grows here, fresh local pastries and art from artists of all genders/sexualities/races drive that point home even harder: shop small, support your community. Things have changed over the years, some old, some new and some things come and go as they find what works for them. Quince survived through one of the hardest times and I don’t doubt they’ll continue to thrive for years to come. Treat yourself to an amazing sweet potato cinnamon roll, I haven’t grown tired of them yet!! Or one of the amazing Danny Cakes!! An iced lavender matcha with oat milk or classic cappuccino with some steamed cinnamon are drinks you can’t go wrong with. An amazing shop and a hidden Denver...
Read more1st time in the coffee shop. Overall it was a great atmosphere for those wanting a work space, however it was busy and there was not a lot of seating available, as the inside is kinda small and the layout is not their fault but also not very ideal.
Ordered and iced coffee - which was great and ordered the quiche and it, however was cold in the middle and took them like over 20 mins to get it to me - it was not fully cooked (or re-heated). I brought it back to them and had to spit out my 2nd bite and, then they just heated up the portion I did not eat to begin with.... and re-served it to me, kinda gross. Understand they don't want to waste. But I think that is some sort of food violation.
Service was okay, but not spectacular. I'd go back for just the coffee during a time that it wasn't so busy.
ALSO not sure if they do this still, but seems they may add gratuity to the charges with out mentioning it. I did not see a sign saying it did or not. Just read another review that...
