After approaching the register, The red head with straight bangs seemed annoyed that we were there to order a drink this morning. Her lack of basic greeting, which could have been a simple, good morning, which was replaced by "what are you here for?" with an underwhelming tone. Then the energy she displayed throughout our 1.5 minutes of interaction made us feel that us being in the same vicinity as her was the last thing she wanted, which was, customers to be there. The poster on the wall says they filter coffee not people, maybe she does the opposite to appease herself? If management wants a true barista, then hiring an efficient, coffee/beverage-knowledgeable and customer friendly person would help...they do exist, but working with her for sure I could see driving other talent away...?
Soon after our order was finished, a man in glasses came out with a smile and good morning to the next customers in line. At least he was in a good mood or just understood that being polite was inviting to customers and the environment. Coffee I ordered was good, the Americano, and the chai tea met the satisfaction so desired from the purchase. Maybe this employee needed to sample some of the own product being sold? Either way, great spot to chill and have a good beverage, and it looks as though other employees make it a decent place...
Read moreI was so excited about a new face on East Colfax. Finally had the chance to stop in for a cup of Joe on the way to the office the other day. Even if the coffee was fantastic, which it was not, the customer service was so poor that it left an awful taste in my mouth which the coffee was only barely able to cover up. I hardly received a hello, when I asked how my barista was doing and received a shrug of the shoulders so as to say, "I'm fine what do you want"? While sitting at the coffee bar waiting for my coffee, wondering if I would write a review for simply an unhappy face behind the bar, I turned my head to find this same individual picking his teeth at the register, gross! Thank goodness he was not making my coffee but girl serving it was no more friendly hardly making eye contact before returning to conversation. I would recommend secret shoppers/customers to report back to management before these two loose anymore business for you. A great store front with terrible customer service. I would gladly pay for Corporate Coffee served with a smile next time. Will not be back to see if...
Read morePablo's Coffee is a great addition to the neighborhood. They have good coffee and friendly baristas and the floor-to-ceiling windows keep it bright and sunny inside. There is also ample seating inside and out. Beware that food is more of an afterthought, so don't go in too hungry. Arriving at 10:30 AM on a Sunday, my wife and I got the last ham and cheese croissant and the last cheese danish. The minimalist interior design is modern and trendy, but the hard metal chairs and small tables would not be very comfortable if you were planning on taking advantage of the free WiFi to do a few hours of work. If you're hungry and plan on hunkering down for a bit, you'd be better off at Quince Essential Coffee down the street. Ultimately though, a coffee shop is about coffee and Pablo's does it well, but I knocked it one star for the small food selection and...
