I’ve heard the burgers are great here and they did not disappoint. The Denali Jr is the no-frills, straight-to-the-point type of burger that I personally enjoy. The blend of elk and beef made the patty toothsome in a good way and is still juicy. IMO it’s just missing a bomb sauce to tie it all together. This is a minor quibble cuz the burger was delicious regardless. For apps, we got the fried artichoke—the brininess of the pickled artichokes overpowered the batter a bit, but it’s still cooked well and tasty—and the mussels—the garlicy white broth was scrumptious. Finally, we ended with the bread pudding, which I just declare is one of the best dessert items in Denver metro. It’s the perfect amount of sweetness, combine with the aromatic rosemary and berry sauce, and that signature bread pudding texture. I don’t like desserts that are way too sweet and this was a perfect example of how to do a perfect dessert. We shall be back! I wish y’all weren’t so far from Denver tbqh

Note that we visited here during the COVID pandemic and pre/post pandemic experience may be completely different. There was about a 20 minute wait for us to get in on a Saturday at 7pm. The atmosphere is pretty spartan. I'm not sure if that's temporary or not. It has more of a bar atmosphere than restaurant. That said, it was very clean and the staff was very friendly. I like that the menu is fairly unique. Lots of options you don't see every day and some that appear totally unique. I ended up with the grilled cheese w/bacon and seafood bisque (soup special). My wife got the KNIK Blackberry Burger and house fries. I enjoyed both of my fairly simple offerings. My wife liked the burger, but wished there was more blackberry flavor (I tried it and agree) and felt that the house chips needed salt and less cooking time. That said, it was a good visit overall and I hope to come back to try some of the other fun options.

First of all: dog-friendly back patio was very fun. It was a 90+ degree day and they still came out to help us with everything. Even had some good conversation; which I'm sure was not fun outside of the shade. It's a lot to ask of someone on a red-flag warning day. I would not have been upset if we were told no. But it gave our dogs a chance to get out of the car and us not have to eat at a drive-thru Food couldn't have been better. Blackberry Burger. Fish and Chips. Salmon Spread appetizer. Fish had a great smoky breading. Cod was dense and fluffy. Fries were EXACTLY how I like it. Tartar sauce was creamy with lemon zest. Home-made chips were addictive and very satisfying. I don't recommend getting the Salmon spread for a group- You will want it all for yourself. Unless you don't like flavor for some reason. End of the day; the Alaska theme hits close to home and I love it.

I was so excited to try this place. Everytime my husband and I tried to eat here it was always a long wait. I came for lunch with my mom and my sister. We arrived at 12:45. We ordered two appetizers. Both came out promptly. The chips with blue cheese balsamic were very good came out piping hot and delish. The other artichoke appetizer was okay. I ordered a burger with a Sunnyside up egg on it. My mom ordered burger and sister Shepard's pie. Two other tables were seated close to us. They got their burgers and food before us. It was almost 2pm when we got our food. The Shepard's pie was a scoop of stew and a scoop of potatoes. That's not gonna hold up or order. They didn't broil it.

Note:. They have posted on the table a 1.5 hr table time limit. We had less than 15 minutes to eat!!!!

We had even asked when the food was coming out. Our server Selena, said they had a couple large parties. I didn't see any??

When we did get our food... My burger was over cooked and luke warm at best.

Fried egg was ice cold. And so as was the bun!

Who likes a cold sunny side up egg?! Said no one ever.

When I told Selena about my cold food all she did was offer to remake the egg? The bun was so cold, I thought they put it on the fridge. Fries and burger were lukewarm at best.

The dressing served with my veggies was watery and I didn't taste the blue cheese at all.

Did she offer to do anything for me other then offer to remake the egg. NO!!

Hmmm??? Horrible customer experience. Horrible.

Guess they have such a great clientele they don't need my business or anyone else in my party. Not sure if it was a kitchen execution issue (which I doubt) or the wait staff issue. My guess is the latter.

After reviewing the negative reviews, my analysis concludes it's wait staff and customer service.

No compensation for inability to eat a cold over cooked burger with cold fries on it. Let's not forget the milky/watery dressing with my veggies.

Selena is the worst server pretty much ever and I'm surprised she's still...

Have been here before and like their food and the atmosphere. We came in around 8:45pm on a Fri night and ordered drinks and an appetizer right away. Our server forgot to ring it in, so it came about 30 min later. We are all human, mistakes happen. But then the burger we were splitting took a long time, too. It ended up being after 10:00pm before our dinner was served. We were actually ready to just leave when the food arrived, but we stayed and ate it. The burger was good - no complaints there. When the server brought the check, she said that they had taken the appetizer off the bill. We were a little dismayed after everything that had happened and the significant delay, we were still being handed a bill. I asked to speak to a mgr. I explained to the mgr that I didn't feel the situation had been handled appropriately and that a manager never even came by once to talk to us. She immediately said she was aware the appetizer took awhile and had removed it from the bill. She asked me what I felt should have been done with the bill. I said at least a round of drinks could be taken off, but that was her prerogative. She then LAUGHED and said something along the lines of, "well, obviously my prerogative isn't good enough." She took the bill to the back and came back with a revised tab, having comp'd a round of drinks. She made a comment that they empower their servers to take care of these issues on their own so we shouldn't expect to talk to a mgr. I said that it was my opinion anytime there was a concern or an issue at a table, the mgr should visit the table. She said thanks for my input, but you could tell she just wanted us out the door and didn't care about our experience as paying customers. Her whole attitude was extremely flippant. After visiting this restaurant on no less than 10+ occasions, this was my last. There are many other restaurants in the Denver area where I'd rather...

The foods pretty good, our table had the crab dip appetizer ( had to ask for and pay for more bread , it only came with a few small slices but it had a large pile of broccoli which was a nice surprise ) fish and chips (salmon) , patty melt ( med rare ), crab cake “burger” and the shepherds pie ( which we all agreed tasted like it belonged on a bed of spaghetti rather than with a scoop of mashed potatoes… think red meat sauce rather than shepherds pie 😞) but they have killer fries … you know the kind that can save a failing relationship!

The service was on par for a bar and grill, no complaints there… except the water drinkers had to ask for refills every time but the cocktails kept coming without issue🤷‍♂️

Speaking of cocktails, the Wookie with hot chocolate was pretty good in my partner’s opinion! I had another of thier drinks in hot chocolate and loved it but the name escapes me now.

However, they lack a changing table ( diaper changing station ) in either of the bathrooms or anywhere deemed acceptable by society ( my suggestion to change the baby on the nearest empty table drew laughs but pointed to a larger problem) and while I don’t have kids, a member of our party did and after they pointed it out, we heard another table lament about the same issue moments later. Upon scanning the rest of the tables, just shy of half of them had kids at diaper age ( I’m sure it was just coincidental for timing but not an exaggeration) For a local, family friendly spot I think this is something they should change quickly to keep parents coming back.

I’d be happy to leave a 5 star review if that made that one simple change ! I’ll amend this review to more stars if they...
