Sergio & Co Italian Specialties — Restaurant in Denville

Stopped in Sergio‘s today (Super Bowl Sunday) with a couple of friends who are in from out of town to show them some of the goods that they have here. They were not open for normal hours, but were accepting pick-ups for Super Bowl. The two gentlemen working behind the counter, (sorry, I didn’t catch the names), but were extremely gracious and accommodating. We asked to purchase a container of vodka sauce to take with us, and not only did they offer it to us for free, but they gave us a couple of containers of Arancini to try out as well at no charge. Completely unexpected and just amazing customer service from a small town shop in Denville, New Jersey. As a sidenote, I work in a local establishment in Denville, and we often order from Sergios, and the food and sandwiches are always outstanding!...

Very good food but a HORRIBLE system to order food. Lunch time everyday is busy. Their system is the same girl takes the order makes your sandwich then checks you out. That now leaves just two girls doing the same. If one girl gets stuck at the register that leaves all the other people waiting. Why not have one person taking orders and 3 girls making sandwiches? Also have someone at the register just to ring out? Why not give the customer a receipt so check out is speedy? I have 60 min for lunch. 25 min was spent waiting in line with 5 people in front of me and 7 still waiting. I walked out. This is not the first time this has happened. Tried to order ahead to take out , still waited in line because no one was at the register. I would love to have a response from the owner. Maybe you do it this way...

I have passed this place a million times and today was the day I went in and I am so glad I did. As a rookie here, I made the mistake of not taking a ticket when first walking in. I totally missed the number machine when I walked in, I was too busy looking at all of the great food. I placed an order to go for a chicken parmigiana on garlic bread with the famous #7 sandwich. I couldn't wait to eat the chicken parm, the smell of the garlic was too much, so I was eating on the run. Of course, a peice of chicken fell out onto my shorts, but the details of then packing the sauce on the side, avoided a huge mess.
