Would give 0 stars if I could (just to preface this review). Stopped in for a birthday dinner and was excited to eat at a diner that I've heard great reviews about. It was pretty busy, but my group and I were seated in 15 minutes. The real problem lies in our server. She seated us and had our drinks and our orders placed within 15 minutes. Fast forward to 30 minutes after we ordered, our waitress is sitting at a table in the same section as us eating with her family and we had not been checked on. By the 50 minutes mark after ordering, we decided to approach a manager to see how much longer the food would be because our waitress was nowhere in sight. While talking to the manager our waitress walks by and says (very rudely) that we had only been waiting 10 minutes. After that the manager insisted he would give us another waitress. The other waitress approaches the table asking us to start fresh!, and asks what we would like to order. When we told her that we'd been waiting for our food she went back to check. Then the original, very rude, waitress brings us our food and asks if we need anything else. We asked for refills on our waters that we had gotten 1 hour before and she was on her way. The manager approached us again and apologized, explaining to us that this particular waitress was excited to see her daughter who was at the table with her family and that he didn't want to delay our food any longer so he stuck with our original waitress. After another 10-15 minutes of waiting another waiter brings us our waters and apologizes for our poor experience. When we explain what happened to him, he explains that the waitress is pregnant and has a lot going on in her life so they are basically cutting her some slack. We were offered no discount or genuine apologies for bad service, we were simply told that she's pregnant and wanted to spend time with her family. Extremely displeased that their waitstaffs personal needs are put before their paying customers! Also a 120 dollar bill for the worst service I've...
Read moreI am not a diner person but I used to absolutely LOVE 7 Star! The value they gave, the taste and quality of the food was top notch! You used to be able to get a nice meal which included soup, salad and a real dessert (not just jello or ice cream) for a decent price and the portions were nice and the food was delicious. Well since the pandemic, that has changed. Now their specials include soup OR a salad, (not both, like before), and all you get for dessert is jello or ice cream, not the delicious offerings they had before. Despite that, on Friday, my bf and I decided to order for take-out since we weren't dressed to eat in. We called in our order and everything was fine. When I paid for the food, the bill seemed a little higher than it should be so I asked for an itemized receipt. When I got to my car, I looked at the receipt and there was an extra 10% charge for take-out. I called and questioned it and was informed that it was for the wait staff for getting my food together. What?!? I am a good tipper when I eat in a restaurant and I have no problem with giving 20% or more for good service. However, I do have a MAJOR problem with an additional amount being added to my bill without even being asked or EVEN INFORMED of it in advance. How dare they take it upon themselves to decide how my money will be spent, without even asking me first! If they are going to charge an additional fee, they should post it on their website or at the very least, let people know when they call in an order. Then, to add insult to injury, my bf was given the wrong pasta with his order and I was given some nasty tasting boxed potatoes for my mashed potatoes, instead of real ones. They were so bad, you could still taste the powdery, flakiness of them. No amount of butter or salt could fix it. The crab cakes and eggplant parm were tasty, but the poor customer service overrides that for me. I won't patronize this...
Read moreI drove 10 minutes to come here, bypassing 3 other diners. A gentleman seated my daughter and I immediately, our waitress came over took our drink order and brought it over. There was only 1 other pair in our section, and they were finishing up. A duo is seated behind us, the waitress bring their drinks, and takes their order, they're regulars, so I understand the star treatment. As she passes by she asks if I'm waiting on someone to come over. "yes " I thought that was odd bc she's the one who brought our drinks. The table that was finished was replaced with a new pair, their drinks arrived and they placed their food order. Now I know I'm crazy for bringing a 2 year old out to breakfast, but she wanted some pancakes, and I was out of syrup. The waitress then brings the regulars their meals, and I ask "Excuse me, would you be able to send someone over to take our order? I don't know how long I'll be able to keep her occupied." "I'm your waitress, I'll be right back." At this point it's been 25 minutes. I understand if they're busy, but to have two tables waited on and served and I have to keep telling my daughter pancakes are coming, when they are indeed, not, is frustrating. My toddler then threw the sugar packets on the ground and that was my que to exit. I got in my car after waiting 29 minutes, which again, would not have been so bad, if two other tables, that came after us, hadn't been served where we hadn't even placed our order. I'm disappointed and it took every bone to cry in front of a bunch of strangers. I know losing a singular customer means nothing, and just because I have a toddler I don't deserve preferential treatment. But please be mindful that customers see what goes on, and this is negligence. I waitressed for many years and...
