CHANGE YOUR PACKAGING

Your beer is good, damn good. Y'know what isn't good? The can it comes in. I was asked by an employee if what I was buying was even beer because the stuff you wrap around your cans is seriously unappealing. I can't imagine it's cheap either. 99% of stickers look better than the wrap on your cans, really, just a sticker would be better.

The meat of this: a fully colored can doesn't make people think beer, it makes people think soda or hard seltzer, case and point the liquor store clerk who literally didn't know if it was beer when I checked out because the packaging is so weird. If the can gets even slightly bent in your hands, like even just a little spring from picking it up, you get this icky feeling of crunching plastic due to the wrap on the can. I'm sure a simple sticker would be cheaper than this considering brewers large and small use those instead. This packaging is terrible. This packaging is literally good for nothing, it lacks shelf appeal, it feels awful, and there's no way it's cheaper than a simple sticker. Even if you kept the same all-black design, it'd still be more recognizable as beer with a sticker instead allowing more of the metal to show near the top and bottom. This packaging is bad and beyond that I can't imagine it isn't an unnecessary expense considering how both large and small breweries label their beer. If you want something more fancy then invest in printing directly onto the cans like bigger breweries (or smaller ones with more successful beers), or if want something less expensive that actually looks and feels decent then switch to stickers, this plastic wrap looks pathetic and feels worse so right now you're kinda picking the worst of both worlds paying more for a worse product.

Why 5 stars? Great beer, I like supporting nearby businesses, and all things considered a gripe about labeling/packaging is minor especially in this case. Don't let it stop you from getting their beer or visiting this brewery, instead buy the beer and visit the brewery but also leave a backhanded 5 star review about how their...

Overview: If you're a fan of an open rustic factory-look brewery with pizza and IPAs, this is a great place for you. You can check other review photos for how it looks, but this place is pretty nice. Not my thing in terms of beer selection though.

Disclaimer: I haven't tried the food so I can't comment on the pizza but I've heard good things.

Beer: Beer selection is limited and ciders/wine comes from other areas so BadSons doesn't make it. Heavy on IPAs, other brews lack and the non-ipa beers are alright at best. I had the Light Rider, Brown Ale, and one other one (was also not an IPA) and they tasted like your standard run of the mill beers. Nothing special about them. I am not a fan of IPAs, but Lupefied is actually not bad; I have not had the chance to try others.

Atmosphere: As mentioned earlier, this was an old factory turned brewery, similar to elicit brewing in Manchester. It does get quite loud when the place is packed since the ceilings are so high and open. There's probably seating for around 100 - 150 people in the building and they also have an outdoor fire which looks pretty welcoming.

Food: See disclaimer.

All in all, if you are a fan of IPAs, this is probably a great place for you, or if you don't drink and like pizza; otherwise, it's a decent place worth a try! Check out Elicit Brewery in Manchester if you like more selection and like this kind...

Happened to be out with my husband for some much needed wind therapy on the bike when we passed Bad Sons. We stopped in, as it was new to check it out & for a beer or two. Great selection of beers, which I was allowed to taste before choosing. The staff was very helpful and knew the details of each beer offered. There's plenty of inside seating and outside is a great place to mingle with friends and make new ones. There's games available including giant jenga, monster size Uno Cards, corn hole and a few others. Just ask the staff for the equipment. A beautiful large fire pit to relax and hang out and for dog lovers, yes bring your dog. Ask the staff for a dog bowl and your fur baby can have a drink of water while you enjoy the beer. Children are also welcome and frequent the outside area with their parents, but in no way hinder the experience, at least when I've been there. I gave 4 stars because there was only a small food truck available and if you don't like crepes, than you weren't eating. Not knowing the place before going was a disadvantage because we could have brought our own food. I look forward to stopping in many more times during...

I went to BAD SONS Beer. Co for work and was very happy with the service. I do plan on returning. There are lots of breweries throughout CT. But BAD SONS really stood out to me because of the feel and layout. Their patio set up is really casual and almost reminds me of someone's back yard. The servers are really nice and informative. I really did enjoy all of them and their great attitude as well as the fact that you could ask anyone for help and be taken care of. I do really like that they support other local business and allow you as a consumer to call and order food from other restaurants and eat at BAD SONS. BUT I really do wish they had something like chips, popcorn or pretzels to munch on while waiting for food. Sometimes with delivery and on a busy night you may end up waiting over an hour for food. Overall, this is a wonderful establishment to visit and you really do get great beer and great service.

Solid selection of beer with everything including IPAs, pilsners, stouts, sours, canned cocktails, wine, and more! They have the top-tier Roseland Apizza on-site serving personal size apizzas covering a variety of options including make your own (definitely worth a visit to the full location down the street for the full experience, but this is worth getting while you are here despite being a little different). The industrial vibe, indoor/outdoor flow, fire pits, plenty of seating indoors and out, regular live music, quick service, and solid drinks make this a definite stop if you are in the area. Children allowed. For context: my review pictures include 3 visits: 2019, 2023, and 2024. Two of my visits included pizza.
