Taqueria LA Mexicana — Restaurant in DeRidder

I was filling overestimated ( kids) and needed to take a break and get some comfort food so I decided to stop here. I haven't eaten here since they had a food truck. I should have stopped by sooner. The whole fried fish was so good. It was hot, fresh, and well seasoned. The rice simple but had so much flavor. The Pina colada was perfect, not to strong but strong enough and very delicious. I got to my sopapillas late but is was still good. Oh n I had chips salsa and queso and man that queso stayed hot the whole time.... how? LoL. I'm getting the whole fried fish again when I go back! 😊 They are about to get all my money, AND they have menudo and it's getting cold out....yes please!!! I felt so much better after eating and hearing some blessed words of wisdom from the owner😊....

Well, what do I say? This place impressed me on the first bite. I had the Friday special, which is "buy three ground beef tacos get one free." It was love at first bite! I can hardly wait to return and try their other offerings. Y'all come give these folks a try, please. You won't be disappointed I'm certain of it! 5/8/21: went back to try the Birria Taco. Wow! You have got to eat some of those! Muy bueno! 9/4/21: Seriously, people, if you are not eating here then you are missing out on the BEST Mexican food in the area. Ate here a couple nights ago and have to say this is one of the best, if not the best molcajetes I’ve ever had. The kids’ quesadilla was also tasty and not bland like lost places.

Was a little concerned, first walking in but looks like a new place undergoing some updates/renovations.

Unfortunately no alcohol at this time but they said they’re working on that and should be able to sell beer in a couple weeks with others to follow. Horchata was good though! I I’ll come back and update after they’ve got drinks to complete...
