I visited Stine last week to look into buying my husband a "green egg" grill for Father's Day. When I questioned upcoming sales on the item with the young man helping me, he made a radio call and another female brought over an ad advising me it would actually be on sale starting today (May 21) with some accessories, plus no tax which made it a great deal. Does the store offer military discount? Yes, I was told but only up to $50. Awesome, extra savings! Can it be delivered? Yes, but it doesn't get "set up". That's ok, because I confirmed with both employees present delivery would mean they would bring it to my home and put it on the stand. So today rolls around (May 21) and I go into the store. I am then told by another employee that the tax free sale is only for Fri, Sat,Sun this week. Ok, not what I was told, but I can come back. But it can be delivered right? Wrong again, not if I want the tax free option. So I make my way to the counter to ask a second person, thinking maybe the gentleman was mistaken. I explain the conversation to the cashier that I had last week, as well as, the conversation I just had with a third employee. She confirms the third employees information, and also informs me that the tax free sale can not be combined with a military discount. Not at any point today did either employee offer to bring up a manager, nor did they ask who I spoke with last week. When I commented to the cashier that they should train all employees to have the same information so people aren't made false promises or mislead, the cashier blankly told me they have a meeting scheduled or something to that affect. Extremely dissatisfied, disappointed, and unsure how so much information can be different between employees of the same store; but glad I hadn't told me husband about...
Read moreMy wife and I opened a contractor account when building our house. Stine’s Deridder store allowed a contractor, without our knowledge or consent, to charge materials to a sub-account that he opened in our names within his account. Once this contractor’s account became delinquent, Stine’s of Deridder credit manager mailed a registered letter to my wife and I stating if the contractor’s sub-account wasn’t paid in full within 10 days of us receiving her letter, Stines would place a lien on our new house. This was absurd! She was arrogant and unprofessional. The manager was polite but just as ignorant about this as the credit manager was. I demanded that our account, with a credit balance to us, be closed. I followed up on my account the following day, with the Stine Sulphur store asst. manager. He was super nice, knowledgeable and professional. He informed me that our account had not been closed as we had demanded. He promptly closed our account and I had to pay the delinquent balance on the contractor’s sub-account with my name on it. Stines and I have no way of knowing if the materials listed in the sub-account went to my house or somewhere else, since the contractor’s electrician was allowed to charge material to any of the contractor’s sub-accounts. What a pathetic and lazy way of doing business by Stine and the contractor. I will never spend another cent at Stine. The material for our new house came from Stine. Never, never, never again. I am telling everyone how terrible they...
Read moreI went to rent their bobcat skid steer. Pick up went well, I got it home and started working on it thinking “it’s a rental it should be ready to work” well 20 minutes later I got the front end all the way up trying to claw my way out of a hole in my back yard and it runs out of diesel. I ended up having to dig a massive hole behind it by hand to get the door open enough to dump some fuel in it. I called the guy and told him about it and all he said is “we don’t provide diesel.” I understand that but when people rent something it’s supposed to come ready to work which means full of fuel. He also said they don’t check their equipment which is comforting. It could have ran out of oil and locked up on my leaving me with a huge bill to a wrecker to come pick it up and take it back. Thankfully that didn’t happen. Stines in Deridder needs their management to step up their game and make sure their employees take care of their...
