So very excited!! FINALLY! The epicurean Gods have finally heard our prayers... 23 plus years later and we at LONG last have an Indian restaurant in Derry!! WooHoo!!!! And Destination India does not disappoint. I stopped in today, Easter Sunday, and ordered take-out for our family of four. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, offering to carry my 2 full, heavy bags of what turned out to be DELICIOUS food, to my car.

We ordered everything medium spicy: Chicken Tikka for hubby, Navratan Korma, Malai Kofta, saag/Palak paneer, aloo gobhi matar, 2 garlic naan, plain naan for our 17 year old daughter, onion kulcha, aloo paratha, vegetable samosa (so delicious! The best I’ve had!), and for dessert, gulab jamin. I ordered a lot of food because I wanted this to last us through Wednesday lunch. Wednesday is my birthday so we won’t be cooking until late in the week. The only thing we had to be sure to eat right away were the samosas because otherwise they’d turn a bit soggy.

For this review, I sampled the Navratan Korma, Malai Kofta, Palak Paneer, the Aloo Gobhi Matar, garlic naan and one of the gulab jamin balls. EVERY SINGLE ITEM was very tasty. I have lots of Indian friends and have known them for decades. I have been to many Indian restaurants. The closest one to Derry that I formerly frequented was Kashmir, in Salem. Now that DESTINATION INDIA 🇮🇳 has come to Derry, this picky eater is staying put. No more having to drive to Salem for Indian food. And I can’t wait for our daughter to get back home from Baltimore so she too can be very impressed with this new family-owned business. P.S. The current Spectrum mailer has two coupons in it that you can use and save yourself some money too. Give them a try; you will not be disappointed. Au contraire. 5...

The is was our first visit to Destination India Restaurant & Bar on Main St in Derry, NH. We love Indian food and had been so excited to try it because of its high rating of 4.8! It was just an OK for us. Not great, unfortunately. We were seated right away at 6:30 (I had made a reservation) and then waited for almost 15 mins before we were greeted and given menus & water, tho the restaurant wasn’t busy. For some reason the server greeted only my husband! I’ve never experienced that before where their back was turned to me and only faced and spoke to my hubby. That was a new experience! Same thing when he took our order. I was speaking to his back. Interesting. 🤔. The salad came 48 mins after our arrival (finally, we were very hungry!) and it was big and looked very appealing. The dressing wasn’t my fave, but overall it was good. A while later the food came all at once. We had asked for a mild presentation, but it was still quite spicy for us. We got shrimp curry which was OK, lamb chops, which tasted nice but were over cooked and dry, chicken vindaloo, which was OK, the chix was tender, there was only one piece of potato and we ordered butter naan, which was hard and too chewy and you couldn’t taste any butter. I’m glad we tried it and satisfied my curiosity, but I don’t think we’ll go back. Our bill came to almost $98 with tip, for food that tasted old, dry, too spicy and just overall not great. There are other Indian restaurants which we prefer...

I went to this hotel after seeing the reviews. I have ordered the following foods for lunch, but unfortunately we were completely upset and didn't like anything.

  1. Chill chicken -- It is too much masala there are only few chicken
  2. Chicken Wings -- It is not cooked properly and no salt no taste in the food
  3. Rotti -- It is cooked too much and becomes poppet/appalam.
  4. chettinad chicken curry -- No taste chicken gravy came like rasam.
  5. Chicken Briyani -- In my life this is the worst briyani I had, Chicken is not cooked properly and there is no flavor taste in the rice 🍚.
  6. Aloo Paratha -- Compared to other foods, this is ok 👍.

Comments for your responses:- You didn't asked several time about the food taste, You asked only one time and i start mentioning the wings not good then you left from the place. That time we served in the our plate. I dont want to return after taking to our plate which i already used. We came 4 people there, if every one took one from the plate then the plate will get empty. We didn't completed the food completely. I hope you seen how much we kept as it is/wasted. You provided the dessert for apology for the wings. It doesn't mater i shouldn't not put any review comments about the food. If you want money for the dessert i will ready to pay. It is not a big deal for me. I have paid the complete...

I am not well-versed in Indian Food or culture, and I was nervous to try Indian food for the first time. I move to Derry in March 2021 and learn of an Indian restaurant within walking distance of my house. After work one day where my coworkers were discussing Indian food, I decide to stop in for dinner on a whim, and absolutely loved it! I was open with the staff and admitted I didn't know what I was doing and if they could guide me through the menu. Without hesitation, the waitress/hostess and bartender were eager to help me! I felt an overwhelming sense of pride for the food , which gave me comfort and that's when I knew I'd like this place. Now it is one of my favorite places to grab a delicious top-tier meal, packed with delicious flavors that I never knew existed. Without question, my favorite items they offer are the Malai Kabab cooked in their Tandoori oven, cheese naan bread, mango kulfi, and Gulab Jamun (pictured). If you want some consistently amazing and flavorful Indian food, or want to try it for the first time but are nervous, you need to go to Destination India!

This place is a gem! Sumid was our waiter and bartender. If you go here, see Sumid! He made my mother and I coconut and mango margaritas and honestly, they were the best cocktails we’ve both EVER had! Soooo good!! For lunch we had veggie samosas, butter naan, chicken tiki masala and chicken korma. EXCELLENT! Everything was brought out quickly and hot. Packed with flavor and cooked to perfection! This place is amazing! We can’t wait to go back and try other dishes Sumid recommended. We are of Indian decent but don’t know much about the culture, so Sumid answered questions and taught us about India. He’s the best! We can’t wait to go back, this will be our new regular spot! I also loved the natural light sitting by the window watching people outside walk by. I loved that it’s located downtown Derry (an adorable downtown if you haven’t been). Parking was easy when we went. The resturant is clean, had good music and a giant bar. I’ll be dreaming of my next meal there until I return. YUM!
