USA subs is the only place we will go to for an amazing steak bomb. Service is always fast and friendly, that is, until tonight. My husband and I were having a late dinner and decided on steak bombs from USA subs. It was between 8 and 8:15pm, and they close at 9. So I called in to order so it would be done by the time we got there. Well, I called 40 TIMES!!!! Time after time I kept getting a busy signal, so we decided to just go in and order and wait for our food to be ready. When we first walked in I get like I had done something wrong. The looks the staff gave us were very un-welcoming. Then we, awkwardly, waited almost 10 minutes to place our order. When the young lady walked out from the back we got the "death stare" like daggers were coming out of her eyes (as if to say, seriously we close in 30 minutes) when she was asked to take our order she rolled her eyes and said "I guess so" and proceeded to take our order. At this point I mention "I tried to call in the order, since I know you all have stuff to do to get ready to close and wouldn't want to hold you up, but the line was busy for the past 30 minutes or so! Your phone might be off the hook." The response I got from a young man working there: looks over his shoulder at the phone "yeah, the phone is off" and went back to doing whatever he was doing. I understand 15 minutes prior to closing, not taking calls, but an hour?! Very very disappointed in their customer service tonight (which is usually amazing)...
Read moreWe got a couple very different subs, a bbq steak with pepper, onions and mushrooms. The other was a ham and cheese.
The large bbq steak I split with my daughter and to my surprise,(I'm not a huge bbq sauce fan) I absolutely loved it. The steak was the same type of steak that they would use in a typical steak and cheese. I was thinking that it would be more along the line of steak tips, so I was taken aback by that. That made no difference though, as I have to say it was delicious. Having chopped steak made it very easy to eat. Sometimes with tips you may have to take a huge bite and it can be tough to eat. You were able to take normal sized bites even with the vegetables. The veggies were not overcooked, they had a very light crunch to them, they were just right, imo. All that being said, every sub truly is only as good as the bread it's on. First, I love that they cut the ends off and you are served the softest part of the loaf. The bread seemed so fresh I would have loved to have some pieces with just some butter.
My daughter's friend had a ham and cheese and he said it was great. There looked like a fair amount of cold cuts.I would say it certainly wasn't overstuffed, but certainly wasn't hurting either.
We have eaten there a few times in the past when we go at a couple of stores nearby. We will definitely continue to stop in to eat when we go shopping, so I better schedule that time around...
Read moreI would give 5 stars to the owner & staff.. busy little place .. it was slammed with counter customers & phone in orders on a friday afternoon when i walked in. Unfortunately my order got overlooked in the crush of orders & the frenzied cooking to meet the demand. I watched the staff be unfailingly polite & patient to each customer even when they had no idea what they wanted to order with several customers behind them. The owner stayed cool, quietly instructed his team..and was even on point when a rather sketchy individual who appeared to possibly be on drugs came in to order & left a companion outside where they appeared to be looking into cars..he was able to have staff discreetly monitor the parking lot without embarrassing the couple or alarming the other patrons. Anyhow, the owner noticed me sitting after the crush subsided, was genuinly apologetic for my order getting lost in the shuffle..immediately prepared my large teriyaki steak sub & rang it up as a small sub. The sandwich itself was adequate but not spectacular...but the owner & staff really impressed me...even with a missed order...
