East Side Eddie's Neighborhood Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Des Moines

We went here for lunch, having never been before. The place is relatively small, but it's clean and well maintained.

First, let me say the service was great. There was an online order that came in as we were seating that was very large, and they let us know immediately that it would likely delay our meal, rather than just making us wait. We opted to stay, which we did not regret.

I ordered the cavatelli, and my wife got the chicken mashers (chicken strips over mashed potatoes and white gravy). I chose not to get a salad.

When the waitress brought my wife's salad, she also brought me an order of their pepper jack cheese poppers for free, since she knew our food was delayed. I'm not normally big on spicy food, but these were excellent.

My wife thoroughly enjoyed her meal. The cavatelli had green peppers in it, which is unusual, and was more mild than I expected; good, but not great. We both had garlic bread, which was perfectly toasted and we'll seasoned.

Because of the wait, the waitress also took 15% off our bill, which was very kind.

We waited forever for the bartender to come take our order. Like a half hour . When we were ordering our food, we told her that we wanted certain items and she was like let me guess. You want ranch with that too and gave a nasty smirk. It was rude and disrespectful. Now we wait for 40 minutes or so for food. People who came in way after us got their food before us. The cheeseburger was burned and lacked any flavor. Fries were eh. My husband's tenderloin was gross and cold when we got it. Didn't even eat it. Mozzarella sticks were gross and lacked flavor. The loaded fries were a joke. The only thing she wanted different was. She did not want the bacon, but it came with nasty spicy Nacho. I'm leaving a bad review. It's not something I like to do. I've been to Eastside Eddies a bunch of times. Normally I would have high praise. But my visit tonight was off. They had a young girl bartending. They left her alone on a Friday night. None of the issues were her fault. This is a management issue. It was a packed house I waited an hour and a half to get a cheeseburger and onion rings I got them they were completely cold. I didn't eat them I asked for my check so that I could go home and reheat it. It's not very good reheated. Meanwhile overly intoxicated people were barking orders at this young girl. There seemed to be no organization. A customer stepped up to try and help her. The drunken patrons didn't seem to care 1 bit that they were driving her insane. Get your shit together Eddie's.
