The Copper Cup — Restaurant in Des Moines

Tonight was my first time in. Paul was bartending. He reminds me a lot of some somebody I went to highschool with. Very down to earth, welcoming, attentive and friendly. Great conversation, great atmosphere and incredible service by the bartender, even after we paid our bill.

As a (post) server, I know how much it means to people to check back even after service is complete, and he did not hesitate to check in several times, even after we cashed out to see if we were still doing okay.

I am excited to come back. Probably my new favorite place...

Among the rudest and most unprofessional bartenders I have come across. In particular, a bartender named Shanda does not treat all patrons equally; she discriminates. Also, this individual banned me from this establishment because I did not leave her a tip for a couple of drinks. I did not leave her a tip for her exceptionally bad service. The owner of this establishment should take note of this review and hire a manager that is professional, mature, and who provides good...

Bar only had 5 people, including my boyfriend and I on a Monday, which I didn't mind. But the drinks were extremely weak, did not contain correct ingredients, and the bartender was rude and more interested in talking to 2 other customers that were friends of hers. Especially since it wasn't busy I expected much more. Probably wouldn't go back. Very dissappointing as I have heard good things about this...
