Vickies — Restaurant in Des Moines

Up until tonight, I've never had a problem from the guest, bartender, or atmosphere. I FELT JUDGED, PROFILED,, & DISRESPECTED by the OWNER! I was meeting family, who arrived 5 minutes before me, and friends who were on the way. The OWNER of the bar pulled up right after I pulled up, and seen a (1)beer can in the driveway ( not by our parking spot). He asked if it was ours, we said no. He started ranting about people littering, how he has to stop people bringing & drinking their own drinks outside his bar. Again we said it wasn't ours,i It was there when we got there. He pulled off, and came right back shining his headlights, and looking at us oddly. Again, he pulled off, and came right. At this time, I'm wondering what's the problem. He was EXTREMELY JUDGEMENTAL, & AGGRESSIVELY yelling at us saying "this ain't no hangout, if you ain't drinking at his bar you must leave,, & its his job to keep people like "US" from hanging outside". My brother told him we just got there & waiting for people,, we weren't causing any problems, no outside drinking, no loud music & we understood, but he kept yelling. We told him we would leave. I will NEVER spend another dime in his establishment! I FELT JUDGED, PROFILED, & EXTREMELY DISRESPECTED! As paying customers who like to support our local businesses, we didn't deserve this! We've spent a lot of money, & we've never caused...

Laid back atmosphere. Whenever Michelle's working I have the best time. Her no nonsense attitude keeps the energy of the bar respectful and safe. I also know I'll get fast service and the right amount of conversation for my mood. It's refreshing ordering from someone who pays attention and is genuinely good at reading people...
