Hi Mr. Bruce , my name is Cydni Goodlett
Yesterday (11/29) I had quite the experience while being interviewed by Jordan Hand, one of the senior directors who serves the Chick Fil A at your Des Peres location. Upon arrival I proceeded to introduce myself to Mr. Hand, whom I’d spoken with two days prior(via telephone) to confirm our meeting. When Mr. Hand saw that I was the candidate for the position, he gave a blatant look of shock and said “oh”.
I’m not sure that he was able to focus on the interview itself and overlook some of his blatant biases that he has against people of color, especially African Americans as myself. I say that because Mr. Hand did make it his business to say that his black employees are those who reside in the inner city “looking for a way out”— of the “hood” is the only acronym I can associate with that phrase. Above that, he told me that the position of “senior director” is not the position that I’m thinking, no such position exists or is needed although the job’s title, and description is listed on “indeed” — the website where Mr. Hand found my information to reach out. Furthermore Mr. Hand said the compensation is not something the company is able to pay ($18) again, the job is listed with an $18 wage per hour. He stated that there were no management positions and offered me to be a back of the house team member, but said I was much too qualified and wouldn’t want to start an uproar with his staff if he were to bring me in. At the end of the interview he thanked me for “seeming like I’m well spoken”.
My concern and confusion with this experience is; if no such position exists, why is it listed on your website and reiterated over the phone? Yet in person when Mr. Hand saw my skin color the job is now miraculously nonexistent- the title is still posted on indeed. I cannot ignore the blatant prejudice and glaring micro aggressions that were most apparent during our meeting. This happened in a matter of 4 minutes- my interview was at 4:15, and over by 4:19pm.
I was initially excited about the opportunity to work for a company whose values align so closely with mine— strong Christian values, empathy, and overall kindness to others. However, I’m not sure that those in leadership (especially at this location) uphold that standard. It is micro aggressions that keep us more divided and does not align with the corporation’s policy of DEI (Diversity, equity, inclusion) if this specific location does not withhold those of corporate values then it is truly a shame and dishonor to a company that has thrived on a Christian standpoint for so long. All employees- no matter the position should “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous...
Read moreI placed an order on the app for mobile order pick up and went through the drive-through on January 17, 2024, around 6 o'clock. It was prime dinner time, but I feel like customer service should always be a top priority, especially during busy times like dinner. I felt that the customer service I received here was below the expectations I normally have for this establishment. The chaotic way of going through the drive-through, with people standing outside to take orders and skipping cars, was not efficient. There were multiple people on one side who seemed to be just chatting instead of dealing with cars to make the line move quicker. The guy who took my order was extremely rude and didn't even greet me or ask how I was doing. He simply asked, "What do you want?" in a hostile voice that made it seem like he didn't want to be there. I am used to receiving better service, with employees asking how they can serve me and what I would like. It just felt very rushed. I was very disappointed with how the service was handled, especially considering the amount of money I paid for the food. I always expect the service to match the level that I'm paying for. Normally, I do not complain, but the last couple of times I've come to this location, the food has been cold and the service has not been good. This experience has solidified my decision to never come back to...
Read moreOMG!! Outstanding! So I went to Chick-file-A after being away for approximately 2 years due to the fact that I didn't have one in my area. On yesterday I realized one was close by the Kirkwood High School in Des Pere therefore my friend and I decided to stop by for lunch. When I pulled up in the parking lot we realized how busy they were, however they had every register mandated and plenty of staff to accommodate their guests. Needless to say the line moved swiftly and my chicken deluxe sandwich was so fresh; the bun, lettuce, tomato, and of course the chicken patty was excellent👌! When I looked behind the counter I could tell from the appearance of the stock and the accuracy of each person's order they were well prepared for the rush. When my friend and I went to search for a table in their dining area the respectful gentleman had all the empty tables cleared & cleaned in seconds. Finally, I noticed a few days ago that there's a Chick- file-A about to open in Florissant, MO near my home. I'm looking forward to patronizing it quite often. Kudos Chick-file-A for your quality customer service! Keep up the good work!
Chick-Fil-A Update; Hey y'all!
