Because of COVID, I have been doing more online shopping than usual and with this has come more returns. I try to avoid this location for drop offs as the middle-aged man behind the counter WILL NOT give you a receipt for your drop offs.
I went before Christmas and dropped off a couple return packages. I asked for a receipt. There was no one in the store. He reluctantly gave me a receipt but warned me when business picks up around the holidays, he will not be giving out receipts. He said you can just follow your return online with the tracking number.
On MLK, my husband dropped off some returns. My husband asked for a receipt. Guess what? The same man said he wasn't going to give him a receipt and that he could track it online with the label. A few days later, I saw that one of the boxes he had dropped was not showing that it had been dropped off/scanned in! It was missing. I called up to the store and was told 'Sean' would call me back. Never did.
After a huge hassle -that lasted three weeks -and several customer service calls to the return company, I finally got my return refunded by that company. This could easily have been avoided if I only had a receipt that proved that this item had been dropped off. If the item is not scanned by the UPS store, what proof do I have that it was ever dropped off?!? A tracking number is useless, if this UPS store is not doing THEIR job. So FRUSTRATING.
I am not sure why this is such a BIG DEAL to give someone a receipt for a drop off. Is it costing the store money to print it out? My advice - if you have a drop off that you need to know is delivered, try the Kirkwood (Argonne), Warson Woods, or Crestwood UPS store instead, where they happily provide you...
Read moreI recently shipped a hand made item to raise money for a family who lost a service member in combat in Afghanistan. The owner accepted the item, wrapped it and shipped it. When it arrived, the item was destroyed. I had taken out $500 insurance on the item. It was devastating. I went back to the store and the owner would not honor the insurance claim. He knew what this was for, yet said he was not liable. I had luckily saved my receipt and started up the chain with UPS. I discovered each location is locally owned. I turned in my claim to the Company UPS who discovered the package did not follow UPS packing guidelines, and the store owner was liable. Upon presenting with this new information, he again declined. I continued with UPS, (the Company) and found Company representatives in Salt Lake City who agreed to honor my claim. Apparently the copy of the shipping agreement the owner had was different from mine. He claimed he had written on mine he couldn't promise the package would arrive safely. He also is not suppose to ship any hand made art. Amazing he didn't know an of this, or so he claimed. I had paid him $90 to ship my item only to have it destroyed. UPS sent me a check for the item, the entire amount was donated to the Navy Seal Foundation in honor of the service man who gave his life. Go somewhere else, use another store, if you do decide to go to this location, be warned to save your receipt. Although it just might not be the receipt the owner has. I feel this individual has zero moral fiber and is not worthy of your business. Again, thank you UPS the Company for doing the...
Read moreEverybody at the store is kind and professional. If you're attempting to do Amazon returns here, don't. I think the store is doing everything they can but the system is so mind-bogglingly slow. I put a stopwatch on both of my returns today and thankfully The UPS Store was able to do it. However it took them 45 minutes to do it. No I did have to wait 15 minutes for them to open. And I think that's fair to complain about that 15 minutes because it emphasizes the point of how little they are open. And how often they are closed every time I come for return.. Today of my returns at the Amazon store took nearly 100 times the amount of time I was in returning at Whole Foods. 43 seconds at Whole Foods at nearly an hour at ups. Again no complaining on the staff or the owner or anything it's just the systems are not in place to allow the two to communicate to one another. Today I had to stop take a screenshot send an email to the store they had to print that email and then they even had to charge me a $1.50 so I could return something. Again this isn't really a complaint on the store itself but if you're trying to send something back from Amazon through the UPS Store prepare yourself. Good luck everybody. Everybody at this store is kind and...
