T.J. Maxx — Local services in Des Peres

about a month ago i purchased an fm radio transmitter from this location, two weeks later the product no longer worked, I went back into the store three days later for an even exchange..and was told by a white women w/ a bowl cut hair (gray) wearing circle glasses she was (heavy-set) and another white women who actually appeared to have wrinkly orange skin, that I wasn't allowed to make a return w/out the original packaging... policy makes sense but it was the way it was said..I'm guessing they were some sort of supervisor....they both turned their back away from me...I felt totally disrespected... I'm a regular shopper I've been a returning customer since the guy w/ the squeaky shoes worked there and also wayyyy before the renovation took place just reccently.... im very disappointed at these two ladies poor, unwelcoming customer service... virtually this matter could possibly be way more of a big deal than I'm making it seeing that I am black... and do to the stereotypical way that society think I'm probably not worth giving service to at all.... this really upset me, I've recommended friends to shop here and I LOVE. the chic environment but I do not agree w/ the current management way of customer service... these two ladies clearly do not go unnoticed do to their unwelcoming facail expressions.....and they NEVER speak....futhermore Im sure I'm not the only customer who sees the poor customer service but it has to STOP..meanwhile you've...

I’ve shopped at this location for years and in the last 2-3 years it has really gone downhill. I feel its due to poor management. Rarely more than 2 cashiers, 3 if you’re lucky, with at least 20-30 minute wait in line. Cashiers never call for back up or help unless you ask them to. Manager never helps them and seems oblivious. One time when i complained, the manager said, “we’re doing the best we can” but then she was suddenly able to find 2 more cashiers to help. Also, the floors and dressing rooms are dirty. Interesting that other local TJMaxx and Marshals are much better staffed with visible managers on the floor to help. I have seen many customers leave their merchandise and walk out because of the wait. It’s a shame because this is a busy store at a great location, losing...

The store is very organized and clean. They have good quality stuffs too. Price might not be very compatible, but they are acceptable if you are searching for things you really need soon. The service is really terrible. When I was there, they didn't talk with me or offer help for the whole 90 minutes when I was shopping there. When I checked out. The old lady with gray hair and a pair of glasses, used an ironic voice to say "thank you". Sounds as if she is surprised that I bought that many things, thanks for your business although you are not welcomed in here. Although I am not perfectly happy with some of the items that I bought, but after I read the other reviews, I decided not to argue with them about return at all. Guess if you want to buy something perfect, don't risk...
