I really enjoyed myself this time at armondo's. The service was a little slow but other than that, everything was pretty satisfying. Their wet burrito dinner is something that I would reccomend. It is smothered in cheese and it is delicious. It has always been one of my favorites from here. As far as the drinks, my Michelada could have been more flavorful. Their Mexican drinks as a whole are okay but nothing special for what you are paying. There could have had better decor too. I remember before they remodeled, there was a much better Mexican theme. But adding the patio outside a while back was a great idea. I can't wait to eat out there again in the summer. One other thing that stood out to me is that the place is very clean. That is definitely a strong attribute that would bring me back in at some point. Overall, this place is one of the better places to go in Mexicantown. The food is quite good

Armondo's is one of favoritest places to eat, went in today for some chips and salsa to go, sat at the bar, I told the Bartender what I wanted, he brought me my drink and that was the last interaction with him or either of them, I never got any chips while I sat there, i never was asked if I was ok, I never was asked if I needed anything else or even wanted another drink, even I was the only one at the bar for a good while, until more regulars came, they seemed to be more Interested in them a bit more and they all got chips and salsa to start. I've been there plenty of times and sat at the bar and received chips and salsa. I had to ask how much my drink was cause they didn't tell me, plus I didn't want to leave a penny more than what I owed. The ladies in yhe carry-out side was awesome!....Jus wanted to share...

2024 UPDATE: Food is still pretty good but way more expensive. Service is TERRIBLE and the waitstaff acts like they don’t want to be bothered. Also, be warned that if you have a party of 6, they tack on a 20% gratuity! All of which wasn’t mentioned beforehand, of course. Typically restaurants have an automatic gratuity for parties of 8+. Either way, simple communication about the matter would’ve been appreciated. I’ll be back, but only for takeout 😒. Lawd , this place is scrumptious! And the food always comes out so fast. This place is CONSTANTLY crowded, so that alone speaks for itself. My favorites are the hamburger nachos and the botanas :) Pictured Below: Their yummy chips & salsa, a steam k quesadilla dinner and a hamburger nacho!

My sister and I visited Armando's on Vernor in Detroit for lunch. Because it was Tiger's opening day, I wanted to ensure we didn't have to wait for a table. They were showing the game on TV. I made a reservation online. The parking lot is in the rear of the building. The parking lot and restaurant were clean. We were seated right away. Our server came to our table within minutes. She brought complimentary salsa and chips out and took our drink order. She was courteous, professional and very knowledgeable about Armando's menu. I ordered chicken enchiladas, beans and rice with sour cream and guacamole. My food was fresh, hot and delicious. Customer service was absolutely amazing! I will definitely visit this location again.

Armando’s has changed a lot since it’s new management. My family used to love coming here for amazing portion sizes and welcoming service. Took us over 10 mins to be seated and over 15 minutes to be waited. I don’t like writing negative reviews but it is upsetting when you pay a lot of money for poor food. The enchilada tasted like trash - no amount of cheese could cover up the awful tortilla and flavorless watery chicken. The beans were not refried they were from a blender. The steak had parts that were good and parts that were undercooked but the whole piece was too chewy. Overall really sad to see a childhood favorite go down. To end on a positive, our server Rafuel was genuine and friendly!
