This taco truck is the truth. I am not exaggerating when I say that the food here is outstanding. They sell the best tacos, quesadillas, and Horchata in the area, period.
Everything is made to order with fresh ingredients, and they package everything very well. The added aluminum foil keeps the food hot, which is a huge plus. The Horchata was beyond divine - if they sold it by the gallon, I'd buy some in a heartbeat. Depending on your order, they usually give you a few sauces and toppings, including a few limes, various salsa's, and guacamole. It takes about 10-15 minutes for an order, and they give you a buzzer to notify you when your food is ready. You can go into a nearby store or sit in your car while you wait, or have a seat at one of the provided picnic tables.
Their prices are reasonable for the area and quality. Parking can be found on the street or in the lot they reside in, but it can fill up fast.
Coronados is a MUST to check out if you're in the area. That 4.9 star rating is...
Read moreI’ve had a decent sampling of Detroit area taco trucks; plenty of them hit the spot, but the only one I crave is Coronado’s. The birria consommé is a punch of flavor, quesabirria obviously the bomb. Never in my life would I think to hype up a chicken quesadilla but, yup, they make chicken and melted cheese taste greater than the sum of its parts. Salsas are all on point. Only thing I wouldn’t get again is the horchata, and that’s probably more of a personal preference than an issue with the recipe. Staff is friendly, service is prompt. Definitely have your destination in mind as far as eating goes because you probably won’t want to mash out in the parking lot of an auto parts store. A couple of parks including the riverfront are close...
Read moreIf you’re anywhere near Vernon & Military, get yourself to Coronado’s Taco Truck—no debate. I grabbed two tacos (carne asada + chorizo), a queso birria taco, and a quesadilla and every bite slapped. The asada was smoky and juicy, the chorizo perfectly spiced (not greasy), the queso birria rich and cheesy with crisp edges, and the quesadilla had legit cheese pull. Fresh tortillas, bright cilantro & onion, and salsas with real flavor and heat. Fast, friendly crew, generous portions, and fair prices.
Order tip: don’t miss the queso birria—ask for consomé for dipping and thank me later. New go-to spot. Authentic, delicious, and absolutely worth...
