First I'm going to say it's kinda hard for me to give a review when Me and my spouse have quality taste buds. So a lot of food places fail now a days. So a restaurants foods need to be really good for us to give them 5 stars. Now a days most restaurants change cooks like never before so each cook cook food differently. But during this visit Me and my spouse ordered a nacho and steak quesadillas. The nacho was good but we have had better. The steak quesadillas was ok but not good enough for us to order them again cuz the steak tasted different to us. We wasn't use to steak tasting like that. So we won't order the steak quesadillas anymore. But we do recommend this restaurant. Only thing I would like El Rancho to do is have a sampler for every food item they offer on their Menu. So customer's could order a sample to see if we would like it or not. The sampler would intrigue people to step out of their comfort zone and try something new they haven't had before. Because we would of loved to try something else on the Menu but we didn't because we we're unfamiliar with most items on their menu and we didn't want to purchase something at full price and once we get it and take a bite we don't like it. So having a sampler would be a nice addition...
Read moreInstead of going to our usual very highly rated Mexican Restaurant of choice we decided to try something new. Disappointing
Upon entering, the smell is not inviting, you know your clothes will smell like the kitchen when you leave.
It’s a three star rating I’m not going to bother with the positives I’m sure there were some
I ordered the chicken and beef fajitas $18. I asked if I could swap the beef with shrimp. I got an enthusiastic yes, no problems. There was no mention of up charges.
When the food arrived I had only shrimp, no chicken. Instead of bringing me the chicken my whole plate was taken back to the kitchen and the shrimp were recooked. Now they are like cardboard overcooked.
We asked for another salsa, it never came until the end of the meal. My water was not replenished.
The bill arrived and I was charged the $18 plus another $8 for the shrimp. That was essentially $2 more than if I had order all three meats which was their third option. And without the beef. I made a point to the waitress and no apologies and no resolution.
I didn’t make a fuss. Left them a tip (20%) and left.
All in all a very disappointing experience and will never...
Read moreToday 8/17/2021 I took a few if my friends to lunch around 1:30pm. Once we were able to order it took a decent amount of time to receive our food. This when everything went south. The fact that prices had almost gone up $2+ dollars was just a start. The size of the serving for my meal was embarrassing. It was about 30 percent smaller. There was now several blank spots on a plate that was usually covered completely. It was smaller than a lunch serving when I ordered a dinner serving I was told they no longer had lunch and dinner serving and everything was the same. One if my friends ordered flour tortillas fried and was given corn. They took it back to correct the mistake but failed to get it back to him before everybody else was finished. He cancelled his food order and did without. They never checked for the need of more drinks. I saw more of the other customers than I did of our waitress. I ask if they were under new management. I have been coming to El Ranchos for over 34 years and have never been as disappointed. If this is the direction or future norm I will not be traveling 30 miles for what I experienced today. My...
