El Taco Veloz — Restaurant in Detroit

Over a decade a most unique Taco Truck with a dining room. Yes about a month ago they open Dining Room after Covid. You order at Taco Truck and take a seat inside then they deliver to your table. If waiting in your car they wave at you. A very large clean dining room with clean restrooms always filled with mostly Mexican Families enjoying the food from the homeland of Jalisco Mexico. Both parking lot and dining room packed when we visited around lunch hour. They opened another location in the Cass Corridor 5 year's ago inside a market and another Taco Truck in New Boston Mi area. Famous for the Full Size Double Stuffed Tacos at half price of restaurants around town. All come with Radishes, Lime, Grilled Onions n Salsa. I got 3 marvelous Al Pastor Tacos WOW fantastic. She had 3 mega Chicken n Cheese Quesadilla only 3 Bucks each outstanding Delicious. I added a Chicken Cheese Burrito OMG came with a Grilled Jalapeno. Truly a decade old hidden gem in Sw Detroit. Corner of Livernois and Toledo you gotta use Google maps to find it. Won't see those Suburban Gringo Hipsters at this place. For the real deal named one of the very best in Detroit by many published articles. 8.5/10: amazing street tacos for a great price; will definitely return when around ————————— Stopped by a couple years ago on my way south from Canada looking for a quick but filling and delicious lunch, and I’m finally getting around to my review as I promised haha. This place was perfect. Was confused honestly at first pulling in cause the whole area looked a little sketchy, but I had no issues. You can order at the food truck but also go inside to sit down for traditional service.

Got three street tacos with all the fixings. USE THE sauces and lime for best experience. My favorite was the verde. They’ve got the portions fine tuned - just enough sauce on the side to go with my whole order.

Excellent flavor in all components of the tacos. The corn tortillas provided not-overbearing body and a nice chew texture; and the protein and veggie fillings were cooked to a texture that was juicy and tender but still done. Proportions between ingredients created a balanced and satisfying flavor, and everything was presented with care and beauty. I couldn’t imagine anything I’dda changed if I were preparing it myself.

Yum! As my mom said, "There's no candles on my table, but who needs them." First off this is an unassuming niche in the produce market. We nearly drove past 2x. We had no idea how the flow went (damn gringos) so hopefully this will help those with anxiety. We ordered at the food truck outside. The menu is very basic looking, no pics and probably highly customizable (meats, add xyz etc), then went inside to eat in a cafeteria style self seated area. You can also add to your order here as well and grab drinks.

The food was amazingly delicious. Very fresh and beautifully plated. The al a cart may not work well for those that need rice and beans to round out a meal, but I'm sure those are orderable. I didn't intend to write a review so there are no pics, but mom said i should lol. That in itself is a reason to believe my recommendation.
