This is definitely a solid katsu spot! I've been here once during COVID and happened to be in the area and was craving for a good crispy and juicy katsu. They have a couple tables inside and you can choose to order at the kiosk or at the front register. I think it's also smart that they have shelves for food delivery orders but they incorporate it very well with their interior that I didn't realize it was meant for until a delivery person came to pick up an order! In addition to katsu, they also offer noodles, a good amount of drinks and even taiyaki! You can get a meal and dessert all in one place. If I wasn't so far away, I'd definitely be a regular at this location.
|| L O C A T I O N / P A R K I N G || -Cross Streets are Golden Springs Dr. and S. Brea Canyon Rd. -Located next to YupDuk and in the same plaza as Hannam Chain Market World grocery store, -Limited # of available spots if you want a short walk unless you have an EV vehicle as they have designated spots for them. We just parked near the grocery store and it was just an extra minute of walking.
|| F O O D / D R I N K S || Pork Katsu Bento Box ($17.50) - I visited this spot during the early stages of Covid and they didn't have this bento box so I was very curious about it. Each bento box comes with 2pcs of takoyaki, 3pcs california roll, pickled radish, house made sauces, egg (comes in the shape of a fish taiyaki), rice and your choice of protein. I opted for the regular pork katsu as I was told that was one of their best sellers! You definitely get lots of food for your buck and I would even recommend sharing with someone else if you're not too hungry. It's nice to get takoyaki in your bento set because most places with bentos don't usually offer that as one of the sides. Pork Katsu was super crispy and juicy.
Pork Katsu with Cheese ($18.00) - I'm a sucker for cheese pulls so I knew I had to try this. They are super generous with the amount of meat and cheese. Their pork katsu is pretty thick! I've been to spots where the katsu is so thin and they overfry it which results in a very dry cutlet.
Taiyaki ($10.00/5pcs) - I was so ecstatic that they offered taiyaki. Their menu only shows the pricing for 5pcs so I'm not sure if you're able to just get 1pc. I decided to mix and match and get the red bean and blueberry cream cheese. I loved how it was filled with a decent amount of filling. Sometimes with taiyaki, it gets so disappointing when it's mostly dough and there isn't enough filling.
Yuzu Mojito ($5.95) - If you're looking for something super refreshing to quench your thirst, I highly recommend this drink. It's carbonated and has a subtle sweetness which makes it the ideal thirst quencher.
Strawberry - Lime Jasmine Tea ($5.45) - This one was good but a bit too sweet for my taste. I didn't really taste the jasmine tea as much but the strawberry flavor was...
Read morePretty good katsu place! Don’t remember this place existing before in this plaza but glad me and my family were able to give it a try. Happy that there was something for everyone in the family. It seems to have Japanese and Korean inspired dishes, as one of the boxes you get some delicious small ban chan, but Japanese small dishes that you typically have with Katsu. I just wish there was more in there ! You can order with them or they have a self serve screen. Note that it isn’t the biggest place so if you have a big party just would plan ahead
Food Remember that forget do have a yelp check in for a milk tea.
We tried their udon, and two katsu boxes, the chicken katsu and the pork katsu with cheese. One of the boxes also had takoyaki and California rolls. Seems like all the food is served in togo boxes and containers even if you dine in.
Would stop by , if I am in the area and craving for katsu. Food is even good the next day in air fryer....
Read moreKatsu and speciality drinks are available at this cozy stop. Online ordering is available and is very straightforward. Parking is available in the small lot. Credit cards are accepted. The workers are very friendly. The packaging is thoughtful (ie there are vents in the packaging for the katsu so that it stays crispy).
The food is super tasty and reasonably priced. The udon soup has a good texture and comes with a good amount of seaweed and fish cake. The katsu is where it’s at however. The serving of pork cheese katsu was so large the takeout box almost didn’t close. The cheese adds a nice chewiness and the katsu sauce it comes with is just the right amount of sweet. The set comes with salad, rice, and even a little grape candy. The black sugar drink has a customizable sugar level (got 75%) and tasted like maple syrup. The boba is nice and chewy. Overall, this was a good takeout spot and has tasty, reasonably priced...
