It started with waiting in line for 15 minutes to order my highly anticipated Heath Blizzard. I finally received it and ran around the building and parked under a shade tree. I took a bite and realized that this is not a Heath Blizzard. A couple of more bites identified it as a Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard. I went inside the Dairy Queen and asked for a refund because I no longer had the taste for a Blizzard. The gentleman that was doing the refund appeared to be training someone and he laughed and asked me why I wanted a refund while he was chewing food and spitting food. I told him to please not be chewing and speaking and spitting food at me especially while he's on the preparation line. The establishments Food Service certificates were right behind him and he is in direct violation of them. Why am I so vigilant and do I know some of the stuff? I'm a retired health inspector. This gentleman at this Dairy Queen needs to be retrained, not only in customer service but eating while on the preparation line and also while training. If this is the way he's training, no wonder why he's violating the rules. Was he trained that way, bad management or just become complacent? I will not go back to this particular Dairy Queen based on sanitary practices no matter what their score is. Watch...
Read moreMy contribution to this platform thus far has been roughly a handful of fast food reviews. This one in particular is unique in that my experience is far more expansive than the average drive thru junkie. I'll be transparent about my cycle of shame. I'll even throw in a ," just say no," for my fellow red ribbon weekers or nike just do it ers ....marketing preference is of no consequence. I personally do not like the food aside from the cheese curds. I don't believe this establishment is at fault. It's just greasy plastic tasting and even if it was 5 star delish..... Skip the shenanigans.....get a blizzard....mainline it and keep a defibrillator handy....the rewards app is pretty rewarding... they accept receipts towards your point balance for cash purchases....or a neighbors' ;) disgarded....uh .... The point system racks up free blizzards often is my point....no paper trail when.u need to sneak in a fix but can't push aside the mortgage another month so the kids can have one too..... atmosphere like the food is cheesy and greasy but a blizzard is undeniably the most gratifying fast food high Ive ever...
Read moreUPDATE This business closes at 9:00 PM week nights and 10:00 PM Fri & Sat. Hours are perfect for high school kids wanting a first job and still being able to have the time for homework and study. And I think it's admirable that the owner gives them the opportunity to learn the many things a young person can learn on a first job. Then during COVID something new and different happened. The usual kids were gone and a new (also young) crew replaced them. And the line actually moved. So it wasn't "just how long it takes". The following 2 visits were just as good. Visit 4 - The line was back to a dead crawl. When I reached the window I discovered that the pre-COVID kids (or some who behaved exactly like them) were back. Much more attention was being paid to each other than anything happening at the window or counter. Just maybe, those who can't be effectively counseled, could gain more toward their future goals and success from the experience of losing a job than having one.
Food is much better than BK. Staff is always friendly but they need to work at McDonalds for a while to get some...
