$75 dollars wasted. 1st time here, 1st impressions count. My wife and my daughter ordered the seafood platter; fried oyster, fried catfish & 2 sides (fries and mashed potatoes) $20.99 and added the gumbo bowl to the order +$2. The fried oysters and catfish (if it was really catfish because the consistency of the fish was more like a tilapia) are for sure frozen from Walmart and whatever batter they used doesn’t go with seafood fry. The fries and mash taters were ok but the gumbo had zero sausage, the rice was not cooked properly with two mini shrimps. My son ordered a pasta ($9.99) that was supposed to be chicken and shrimp but he doesn’t like seafood so he ordered it with just chicken for what they changed the price and charged $12.99 without even giving us any advice. The pasta and sauce were very good but the chicken from the frozen aisle and it was absolutely bland, from the bag to the grill. I ordered the Garlic shrimp pasta. Once again, frozen out the bag large shrimp and to make matters worse, angel hair spaghetti, seriously!? The taste is there but olive oil was way too much. My little sister makes this dish WAY BETTER than they do. I have no idea where all the great reviews come from about the food but it’s deceiving. The service is ok. I am dissatisfied and disappointed. Was expecting a real seafood experience being at the coast in...
Read moreWe went to this place while we were back down visiting after we moved, and I wish that we would have known about this place beforehand because the food here is amazing and you get a lot for what you pay for. The waitress was very nice the place was clean and they even had a table in the back for a larger party to eat at which was nice since there were two children who were quite hyper.
The kids did get their food earlier than the adults which was unfortunate because by the time they were done eating and we waited for so long they wanted to run around so we couldn't fully enjoy our meals. But again the food here is amazing. The appetizers were great, especially the debris fries! I highly recommend those! Our meals themselves were so large that none of us could finish our plates.
This little hideaway place is definitely a must go to every time we go back home. The only thing is just be prepared for a little bit of a wait because I don't think that they have a very big kitchen staff and seafood takes a long...
Read moreThe food quality was impressive. I ordered a shrimp Po’boy with onion rings, and both were flavorful with a satisfying crispiness, though the dish was slightly greasier than I would prefer. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in, as we were greeted warmly and allowed to choose any seat we liked. Drink refills were prompt, and the food arrived quickly, adding to the positive experience.
The restaurant itself has a simple, no-frills ambiance—perfect for a casual, quick meal without any unnecessary pretension. Cleanliness was also notable, with both the dining area and the bathrooms being well-maintained. As for value, I found it to be well worth the price. The portion sizes were generous, as I was only able to finish about three-quarters of my meal, leaving me with leftovers to take home. They even offered to provide drinks in to-go cups, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a satisfying experience, and I’d recommend it for anyone looking for a good meal at a...
