Hartz Chicken Buffet — Restaurant in Dickinson

First off, I never knew a "chicken buffet" existed. With that said, the price of buffet was quite high at $15 for just myself(drink included). Nothing was labeled on the buffet line so some of the stuff I had no clue what it was, and some items had the appearance of something I leave in restroom after eating taco bell. But the food I did know was quite good, and the meats were decently cooked/flavored, I would have liked to get some spicy tenders but they don't do this. The 4 styles of chicken I ate were cooked well, the staff was non attentive, but luckily the sweet tea made up for that. I am in Dickinson on an out of town job (I'm from fort worth) so this was a pretty good only visit. The one thing I didn't notice was that there was a desert part to the buffet till I was full. So I waited a good 30 minutes and then got some banana pudding and some orange slices. Staff never once checked on any customer but they were quite busy cooking and keeping buffet stocked cause I ate a hell of a lot of chicken (15 tenders just to start) sides were bland, but both brown and white gravy made the dry mash taters better. Mac and cheese seemed kinda chalky. If I'm ever in area again, and price of buffet comes down I would definitely visit again. Thx for reading and hope your experience will...

I first visited the restaurant December, 2023. I went inside due to not sure what I wanted to order. I was ordering take home for myself and husband and also dropping off dinner for my daughter and her 3 children. Total order was 2 dozens gizzards, chicken strips, thighs, okra, mac & cheese. The staff was very busy and I was feeling bad that I wasn't sure what I needed to order but staff helped me out answering all my questions and making suggestions. All of the staff got involved to make sure I was taken care. The inside and outside of restaurant very clean. FOOD WAS AWESOME!

I revisited Jan 31, 2024 and went through the drive thru. This time I new I could handle my order. Basically order same food as before for my husband and I. We love gizzards and dark meat, so this was ordered in addition to side order of okra and mashed potatoes. Individual taking care of me was awesome. Everything clean. When got home, the gizzards were over cooked and dry and the dark gravy, well, next time I will order white gravy.

My third order, I will know to order white gravy and please don't over cook the gizzards. So happy to have you in our neighborhood, we love chicken and it's so messy so THANK YOU!!!

I showed up hoping that the buffet was fresh and it was definitely not. I paid $48 for two adult buffets and two children buffets. I was waiting for them to put out fresh food. It look like the food have been out since noon the only thing fresh that they put out within the hour that I was there mind you it was dinner time so I expected most of the things to be already changed Because it’s dinner time and the only thing they had put out was the fish me and my friend did not eat but my children had to eat because I had already paid $48 so I was letting them eat whatever they have the rest on their plate I told the manager kindly, and that I did not appreciate we came to buffet, and it was extremely not fresh All he had to say was sorry and that I should have told him why I was sitting there. I said to him I should not have to tell you to put out fresh food for a buffet that should’ve already been out because it is dinner time? I asked him for a refund and he said he’s not gonna sit here and argue with me And was going to give me one buffet back. I said no this is ridiculous.
