
Let me save you heart ache.Do not Ever let maribel touch your hair! I called Genesis and then I went there and asked for the best hair coloring stylist employed there. They suggested Maribel. I set up an appointment to meet with her in which she charged me $50.And of course , that did not go towards the price of the hair hair coloring visit. She said it would take four hours and cost me four hundred and fifty dollars to Is gently stripped my hair so we could add the color of my Choice, to my healthy hair. The day of the appointment I sat there for over 8 hours. Not only was my hair totally burnt.It came out this awful color of yellowish red orange. Then, 15 minutes before I was to leave.She came from the back room acting very anxious and antsy, like she had It can some type of an upper, And began to "Edward scissor hands "Cut my hair. It was not part of our agreement for her to cut my hair. She told me she wanted to shape it up for free. When she grabbed my bangs and twisted them.I said to her you were not intending to Cut my bangs like they do on tiktok , where everyone's turns out horribly, And she told me."I know what i'm doing". Of course , the bangs went boing and they were way Too short so she began to grasp hair Further back on my head and create new bangs longer to cover her mistake. I was mortified!! Maribel then told me that she expected me to pay six hundred and sixty dollars and tip Is her the appropriate twenty percent. She then told me that I need to make a second appointment that would take about six hours and The new charge would be another six hundred dollars to "start with". To start with!! She Planned to have her manager help her color my hair. Honestly at this point I was exasperated, Is overwhelmed, Exhausted, Disappointed, And just wanted to cry. So I paid and left. The next day I took pictures and posted on the internet. Fortunately, I found another woman who would gently try to reshape the chopped up hair and blend up the choppy areas in which mariabelle created. She was also able to color my hair even though It was burnt all the way to my scalp. My hair was midway down my back when I went to see Maribel.And by the time this fiasco was over my hair was just at my shoulders, burnt beyond repair. I have spent the last year Is purchasing expensive products, Using masks, All under the guidance of another hairdresser , trying to repair And salvage my hair. No doubt I have spent at least two thousand dollars trying to recover my hair Is until I could grow out enough to cut all of the burnt Is hair off. Is my hair is now at the length of my collar, Thankfully All of the burnt hair is finally gone.
In response to the management that wrote a comment and called me a prevaricator for shame on you . Is first of all no one had Colored my hair and ruined it prior to my meeting with maribel. Is secondly you did come by and visit me during The eight hours I sat in that chair waiting for maribel to finish, Because she was Is fitting me in between working with other customers?Like I did not have an appointment with her. Thirdly I did tip her because Is my grandson's mother worked for you at that time and I did not want to put any kind of shame or embarrassment on Is her. Trust me it was not because of maribelles Is a professionalism. I literally felt like I was caught between a rock and a hard place. So Is rather than embarrassed Is provided the Is expected amount of tip and left gracefully.
Fourthly, You were also there When I asked about how much it would cost to put the actual color back into my hair. That's when Mirabel said that you were gonna help her.And it would start out at a high dollar amount to repair The damage she had done. She stated you wanted to oversee it.
Your trying to save face and diminish my reputation/ hoŕific experience, his is another example of your facade. I pray other people read this And really Reconsider...
Read moreIt’s taken me a while to write this review but I have to say I was a loyal patron of genesis hair salon for 3yrs. I had what I thought was the best stylist until she had a major life event that I noticed she was having her assistants do more of the work on my hair and she would only come over to check their work, which to be fair if she was teaching then ok but I was still paying premium prices for an assistant to do my hair but I thought as long as it comes out just the way I like it then no big deal. Then there was one new assistant in particular that she had and she did not do my hair to my liking. So bad that I would have to go back in to get my color fixed by my main stylist. Mind you I never walked out of Genesis without paying over $300 on any occasion. Then I asked my stylist if it was possible for me to go blonder, I had been asking to go blonder for months but really didn’t see a difference. I found a picture and showed it to her and she replied they can absolutely do my hair like that and was very excited for the change on the morning that I came in. Now, this is when things went awry. I was confident in my stylist to do my hair even though the last two times I had been in things were not to my liking but chalked it up to her assistant (student). This last time turned out to be the worst hair experience of my life. One that I will and have been paying for to reverse for 6 months now. My hair became so damaged that it felt like jelly when I washed it. My long beautiful locks were cut over 5 inches off to make it look healthier but it was not. One section of my hair completely broke off. My main stylist even admitted that it happened because she wasn’t paying attention. Something that I should’ve taken more seriously because I knew since her life event that she wasn’t her old self in the attention department so I partly blamed myself for even allowing the change. Worst part is my hair was and is utterly ruined and I had to pay over $700 for the damage. I have since found a new stylist at a different salon that specializes in blondes and on the road to recovery. But my last 3x at genesis were utterly disappointing with the last one topping the cake as my worst hair disaster ever.
Yes, I was traveled internationally before my appointment and landed on 04/13, a week prior to my appointment and it was from a place that I traveled to regularly. I was with my stylist for 3yrs and of course I still tipped her because she was having a panic attack about what happened to my hair, I felt bad for her reaction and I did not realize the full extent of damage until I had washed my hair myself. I made the follow up appointment that same day I was leaving before I understood how much damage there was. I will spare you all the details but long story short, I was sold i-tip extentions that were installed incorrectly and it caused huge bald spots on my head. The part that connects your hair to the extentions is supposed to have a silicone lining to prevent this but mine did not and it broke my hair off at the roots. She put 8 bags of extentions on my head and I was losing 20 extentions a day. I went back several times to have them put back in but they continued to fall out all over the place. It was horrible. I tipped the person very well but after $4,000 all I ended up with was a head full of bald spots, one very large on the back of my head. It is going to take YEARS for my hair to grow back. Before I understood what was happening with my own hair, I brought my niece in for a quick ballpark on what it would cost to color her hair and the woman working told me I would have to pay for a consult just to get pricing... literally after I had just spent thousands of dollars there. I ended up taking my niece to salon avenue and they read off pricing right away, which ranged depending on the level of stylist we selected... which is what I have experienced at every other salon other than Genesis. I told the people at Genesis this and my stylist accused me of not valuing her time (since I thought it was weird we would have to pay just to hear their pricing), after I had tipped her HUNDREDS of dollars, never below 20% of my overall services... I could not believe she would say that to me after making so much off of the horrible extention services she provided me and everything she made off of me from tips- I even tipped her to put back all the extentions that started falling out the day I left the salon. That was just inexperience on my part because I did not realize it isnt normal for that to happen... and I know now that 8 bags of hair is ridiculous in itself! After researching the cost of the extensions I know they upcharged me a total of $800 just to order the hair!! Anyway, the owner called me once about my experience but I missed the call.
