I had to give myself a day before writing this review because I left so frustrated with the staff here. I will say that if you have the opportunity to go inside do that instead of the drive through because during my 20 minute drive through visit I saw several folks get served and leave. Unfortunately I had to sit through it because I had my daughter sleeping in the car.
First I will start with the 3 young ladies at the front counter and window. I hope it was all three of these ladies first day because it would explain a lot. If not, their manager needs to retrain them. The ONLY person I saw doing anything was the woman in the back that "didn't speak english" (I will get to why I out that in quotation marks. Be patient) I ordered a family combo meal that comes with 2 sides. Pretty easy I thought. I asked for both to be mashed potatoes with gravy on the side. Also could I have a side of cajun rice. BOOM. Not too difficult.
When I reached the window I was immediately addressed and I paid. After that the 3 girls were visiting and it became apparent to me they were not worried about making my order. While I sat staring at all the chicken under the warmer from my car they are all 3 still just having a good ol time visiting and laughing. 10 minutes later I guess I made one of them uncomfortable with my HELLO look and one just walked out of the front counter area while another one grabbed a broom and started acting like she was cleaning so she didn't have to come to the window.
Finally I see the woman from the back step up and hand them a bag of food. Praise the Lord. Something told me to check it so I did. I had a box of fried chicken and 2 sides. 1 mashed potatoes with gravy and one red beans and rice. As soon as I looked up the young lady asked whats wrong. I repeated what my order was and tried to hand her back the items that were wrong. She looked confused so I broke at down again. I need 2 mashed potatoes gravy on the side and a side of cajun rice. YALL she looked at me and said....that is rice. At this point I am hoping she is new because how can you work at a place and not know items on the menu. I explained that its beans and rice. Also thats white rice not cajun rice. SMH.
Please tell me why this next part almost made me wake my child up and get her in her wheel chair to go inside and legit give these girls some manners! After I explain my order is wrong FINALLY someone steps in to help. LOL. So I thought. Again I explained that I needed plain mashed potatoes with gravy on the side. She then blames it on the lady in the back ....SHE CANT SPEAK ENGLISH. I will at this point assume she is also new because who doesnt check and order before you give it to someone instead of blaming the ONLY person working at this time. (Also I am still holding all the items out the window that arent mine. ) What happened next is why I will not only be leaving this review but calling the manager today. This girl starts speaking louder because I guess she thinks if you talk louder to someone who speaks english as a second language it helps. "DOSE mashed potatoes with gravy on the side" Now I know who ever is reading this probably thinks Im making this up. I am NOT. It made me sad. I honestly could go on and on but I will save it for my phone call today. My trip ended with me still trying to hand food back and the young lady at the window asking me.....what do you want me to do with this. Then another lady asking permission if it was okay to hand me the corrected food items. Again hopefully they were all 3 new but they need new training and also they need to learn to be decent human beings ESPECIALLY to the only people working in the back. Read moreThis store could definitely benefit from a visit from the "Undercover Boss"! I Love Popeyes Chicken, just not this one location. I was so excited when they opened up several years ago and kept giving them the benefit of the doubt that they would improve as time went by. However, I don't feel as if the owner is committed to this store because there has been no improvement whatsoever. It is as if they have had no training at all in any area of the fast food industry, especially with customer service, and there is no consistency as far as upholding the same standards with the other Popeyes franchises. This Popeyes is completely unorganized, and, has been from the beginning. They either cook too much so you receive old, stale chicken, most of the time it's not the recipe or pieces you asked for or they don't cook enough so you have to wait 20 minutes, sometimes longer, for your order, again not getting what you ordered. Even when you use the app to pick it up, they don't have it ready and/or give you what you ordered. They are constantly out of ingredients such as sauces, sides, particular cuts of chicken and seasonings, such as breast, thighs, even strips, regular or spicy, and so on.
