Green River Brewing & Taproom — Restaurant in Dixon

I have been coming here since it first opened. Although we slowly stopped coming as often due to the inconsistency with the food, drinks, and atmosphere. It feels like they do not take as much pride in their workplace as they once use to. We love the idea of family friendly, but there have been multiple times we have come and the downstairs was not open. Causing the outdoor family appeal to dwindle.

Suggestion during football season: Sunday football all day- (Better advertisement)open the downstairs, have the heaters lit, and have the games on all day… including upstairs. We came to watch the niner game with family/friends and they had 3 tables of people, bull riding and college basketball ball on. Some of the TVs not on upstairs and the downstairs completely not working and closed. There were multiple great games that could have been on, but that wasn’t the case. We had planned a large group meeting us here for the game. Instead the group left for another family location to hangout. Hopefully next time we won’t have to leave.

We love this place and hope you can bring back the atmosphere to its original glory.

Great location great beer menu. That's it. We went on their anniversary. Yes it's going to get hectic. Little did we know that it would take an hour and a half for a basket of fries and one sandwich ...oh and chips and salsa. We only got to see the last four songs of our friends band :( I went up to the servers area and told them to cancel our order. We paid for our drinks and we had about one foot out of the door and a woman came up to us with bags. This is the kicker.....* "Here you go pleases take this it's on us. We only have two ovens , it's crazy here." I told her that's okay we're heading down to see our friends band. "No please take this--- " my husband and I thanked her and as we reached for the bag, she pulled them back and said " unless you are wanting to pay ??? I'd except that too..." I told her to forget it...what was that? She handed us the bag and walked away. Wait what? Oh my. Definitely need more cooks/ovens in the kitchen with that many tables on the floor or start taking reservation's. We'll be back for the atmosphere and gatherings but not for food during peak...

Hard to rate a place such as this appropriately. Great place to have a drink, a fun atmosphere. On the day we visited the food situation was a disaster with the kitchen “backed up” over an hour but they were barely getting 3 orders out each hour. Serious back of house mismanagement. The place was not terribly busy. The inside area where we sat was not more than half full.

And then the food was laughably bad on top of it - my “carne asada” burrito came with tri tip and chicken inside it, and was dry as a bone. It was warm, but not hot by any means.

Front of house staff was friendly and comped us a few drinks to help offset the back of house circus. They were also visibly frustrated with whatever was going on in the kitchen.

Take home message, go have a good drink and enjoy the atmosphere, but eat elsewhere until they prove they can run a kitchen. And based on my experience don’t hold your breath that they’ll ever figure it out, so regard this...
