As a restaurant manager, I have a certain level of standards and expectations I would expect to get when I am serving respect and being courteous. I treat workers with respect, I say please/thank you, and try to be as quick as possible when ordering so late to closing. . . so it’s always disappointing when I am met with a nasty, foul attitude worker that leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Whoever was working the drive thru tonight was rude over the headset, rude when we were at the window when I tried to ask a question - he gave us the wrong drink anyway and I simply tried to ask to make sure the coke was marked because we had one coke and two Dr Peppers. We were given no straws, barely any napkins and I didn’t realize I was going to specify that I wanted my burger wrapped in lettuce when I requested no bun - I also only requested it with no ketchup as I still wanted the mayonnaise. Same with the grilled chicken sandwich j ordered - asked for no bun and came plain without the garlic mayo.
On top of a rude ordering experience, the guy at the drive thru window had an airpod in, was texting on his phone and with the window open, complaining about the guests being there. Unfortunately, they chose to work in the service industry and serving guests with a pleasant and hospitable experience is what makes the business money so they can get paid. These workers may need some re-training in hospitality and directing them to round out checks to get the guest exactly what they want and not feel like they wasted time choosing Wendy’s over...
Read moreSome of employees at this Wendy’s really don’t care for customer service. I ordered 2 plain dbl cheese burger combos and a classic chicken combo and a six piece of nuggets in the drive through. When I get to the window and receive my order I’m missing one dbl cheeseburger combo. I let the guy know and he tells me it’s in the bag I tell him that it isn’t and he insisted that it was I attempted to show him the bag and he refused. Finally, I get the dbl cheeseburger but I’m missing the condiments that I requested again he says it’s in the bag, by this time I’m getting a little frustrated because I’m hangry it’s 5pm I wanna get home and eat. Finally he gives one mayo, 5 ketchup, and one ranch sauce. One mayo for 3 combos! I tried asking for more but he just walked away. I said just forget about and go home. When I get home I open the burgers and it seemed as though they had been sitting out under the light for a while because they were drier than the Goby Dessert. They ask for a $15.00 an hour wage but give you a...
Read moreToday I stopped by this Wendy's to get a salad. I was greeted by Joaquin, who made his best effort to quickly serve me.
A few minutes later Sandra, the manager came out with a great smile and greeting. Inviting me to try their breakfast. Breakfast? In my bewilderment, I asked, now Wendy's serves breakfast?
Yes, Sandra said, it is delicious! Wow, with an invitation like that, perhaps I will.
In essence, such brief positive interaction with a customer makes your simple routine experience enjoyable. It is my hope the owner reads this post, because that team works very hard, and for Sandra to still greet you with a smile and offer an invitation to come back and try something new. It tells you about her dedication and personality.
My kudos and compliments to this group. Absolutely, a model not just to serve the food, but more importantly, to make the customer feel welcome and...
