I do hate to be the first to rate this place the lowest, but since I know how much I value reviews I can only be honest about my experience.
I went in on an afternoon the place was deserted, the few staff on hand were in a booth eating themselves. That's cool, its a relatively new place and its sharing a wall with another Mexican restaurant so I expected it to be somewhat empty. I drive pass this place every day on my way home and I saw a Groupon for it so I figured this was fate telling me to stop in. We just moved to Norcross and our go to Mexican spot is in Roswell, so we were looking for some place close.
I ordered my families usual fare. Mostly everything consisted of chicken with one with beef. We ordered out so by the time we got home our mouths were watering from the smell. Chips were good, had a hint of salt. Cheese dip came plain, which I like. Things started to turn at the taco. Flour taco with these cubed chicken pieces, looked a little similar to what one might make at home with a packet of taco seasoning, tasted pretty much the same...very bland and almost prepackaged tasting. The same chicken was included on our nachos and chimichanga. It was really rather disappointing. Moving onto the one dish with these beef pieces, it looked nice, smelled nice, took a bite had a nice flavor then came this overwhelming sour taste not sour like a lemon but like bad. I have never tasted sour meat before, but that's literally the only way I can explain it. My husband was afraid to eat it so to err on the side if caution we threw it away.
Now I say all that negative, but there were positives...the inside of the restaurant was very clean and I loved the color of the walls. Im sure this place will continue to do very nicely and maybe after some time has passed we will give it...
Read moreBuyer beware: I have updated my review as of 2023. Good burritos the owner is nice. The part that I do not like is the hidden charges and the blatant flash advertising in the menu. The menu prices are not accurate while you are in the store so make sure to check your bill as the staff will try to add in a number of additional charges while you are eating there without telling you. For example extra chips have an additional cost which is not explained by the staff or a menu item not actually having the ingredients in the picture used. These are minor gripes and I could get over that. The bigger issue is the prices listed on the menu. The staff decided to charge $1-$2 per a menu item and refused to notify me the menus were in error and told me well they haven't been updated yet and it won't be updated till next month. It is not the responsibility of the customer to know the price of items on your menu, I buy items based off of the listed price and do not wish to spend my money on an establishment whose staff informs me it's my problem and make a scene in the restaurant as it is very unprofessional. Please do not trust the staff and check your bill as they cannot be trusted. If the owner sees this please help clean up these internal staffing issues as they have now driven away a...
Read moreI visited this restaurant today and had a terrible experience. We sat down and ordered our drinks along with the chorizo cheese dip. The mango mojito tasted heavily of mango purée at the bottom and nothing but alcohol at the top. Five to ten minutes later our cheese dip came out and the dip was cold, yet the chorizo was overcooked and burnt. We proceeded to place our order and it took over 20 minutes for them to make 3 chicken tacos, 2 tongue tacos, and 2 shrimp tacos. Meanwhile, we watched them bring out full fajita plates for people who came in several minutes after us. After taking one bite of the chicken taco we asked for the check. That chicken so damn dry the Sahara Desert has seen more moisture. The corn tortillas were obviously store bought and the tacos were colder than the north during the winter. Once we expressed our concerns for the food the waitress tried to justify the poor quality by saying it was “cooked to temperature”. It was then that we found out she was the server AND bartender, and there was no manager nor owner on duty. I will not be back and really don’t understand how they have so many good reviews. La Raza is right down the...
