Update: Btosk still serves the BEST mexican food in Pittsburgh! Called ahead to reserve my birthday party here for 16 people and service was great as always!!! We love Anderson, Frine, and Laura!!!
We always get amazing margaritas and are treated like family. The location is passed a lot because it is on the corner but it is so worth the stop! As below, my wife and I still make Btosk a must go destination for our dinner outings. You just cant go wrong with any of the food. Ive had almost every taco, Diablo, Molcajete #2, Pasadena, chimichangas, the three Tortas, Nopales and ALWAYS get an Elotes! The tres leches cake is better than ones weve has at 4 star resorts in Cancun!
Lastly, they do catering too! We ordered here for my sons first birthday. The catering was absolutely stupendous and we were taken very well care of to serve 90 people!!!
Btosk is a weekly must go to for my wife and I. Weve been coming for almost year and Im not sure why I havent left a review sooner.
We love everything about it! Great service, amazing food, and the BEST BEST BEST Margaritas in Pittsburgh. They muddle them with fresh fruit!!!

Read moreI really wanted to love this place! The back porch was darling, sparkling with cafe lights. But that was the end of the positives for our visit. We arrived almost two hours before closing and the host seemed deeply annoyed that we were there. We asked to sit on the back patio and were waved off to ‘sit anywhere’ — except we didn’t know how to get to the back patio. Instead of walking us there, we got pointed in the general direction. Ok, no big deal. The empty table we sat at was STICKY like an entire soda had been spilled across the top. Our server was rude and inattentive. The music must have been playing on a free platform supported by ads because we were treated to two VERY long commercials about insurance over the course of our dinner. But I was willing to look past all of that if the food had been good. It wasn’t. The margaritas were weak and overpoweringly orange flavored. The queso fundido had only a small sprinkle of meat on top. The chips were stale. The esquites appeared to be made with corn straight from a can. We came planning to hang out and drink a few rounds but left after the first...
Read moreVery, very good Mexican spot. Everything I had from this place was very tasty. I wanted to try quite a variety of items from this spot, including the quesadilla, platanos Fritos, and the tres leches.
Every single thing I had was very good. To start, the main meal, the quesadilla, was quite filling. They served it with complimentary rice. The rice was surprisingly flavorful, and had a great soft texture. The quesadilla itself was also quite good, filled with a nice amount of cheese. Simple but tasty.
The platanos Fritos were also excellent. The plantains themselves were sweet and soft. Almost worthy of being a dessert. The cheese they had on top was a bit unnecessary in my opinion, as it was stringy and tasted a bit like plastic. But still, very good overall.
The tres leches was an excellent dessert to end off the night. So creamy, fluffy, and perfectly sweet. They definitely do not hold back on the whipped cream here (which was a tad excessive).
All in all, a very nice Mexican spot. I would definitely come again. Enjoyed...
