Potomac Bakery — Restaurant in Dormont

I love there bake goods but have had a bad experience three times with Potomac bakery. First time my daughter 16th birthday cake she loves red velvet cake we are cutting in to her cake at party and I cut into a chocolate cake. Second time I order a 1/4 double layer square cake for my birthday and one of the layer of the cake was only half a layer. Third time was my birthday again I order a 1/4 of a sheet cake that I order every year for my birthday I get there they have an 8" round cake for my that when I order the cake I talk to girl I gave her size and prize that I paid last year for it. And she gave me the total of my order witch was wright. I come from McKeesport for these cake because in enjoy them, not to get there and I am buying the wrong thing. While my family has long ordered all of our birthday cakes, holiday thumbprints, and rolls from Potomac every year and love them, I am writing today to comment on the customer service I received at the Mt. Lebanon location.Calling from out of state to order a special cake for my mother's 80th birthday, I was feeling very uncertain and indecisive. Christie/Kristy? answered the phone so personably and was so friendly, I felt confident in asking for her opinions and help in selecting what I needed to make the cake look and taste great. The store was minutes from closing, but she took the time to walk me through the flavors and possible decoration choices and reassured me that the cake would be lovely. The bakery delivers items for the cafeteria where I work (pastries, cookies, donuts, muffins, etc). They also cater all the parties, for my company, with custom cakes that are always really good and fresh! The only thing is that the buttercream is really sweet (in my opinion) but still good! The delivery drivers that make the deliveries overnight usually have a bag of some donuts/cookies for whoever opens the kitchen door for them. They are all really friendly; Bill N. is so friendly and is always asking about me and my family. He is such a nice guy who's very professional and personable!!
