We had the grilled chicken penne pasta, Mac n cheese with the sauces fried tenders and mozzarella sticks. The cheese sticks were still frozen in the middle (which is the second time this has happened at this location) The grilled chicken was a little burnt and noodles could use some more sauce (personal preference) Over all the flavor was decent. The bathrooms really needed to be up kept and cleaned more. For it to be dead at 1pm and the bathroom to have flies in it and dirty toilets is a downside.
To add to the food being below their normal standards. My husband goes to Applebee's a lot. It's his favorite sit down restaurant. So we normally don't have this much problems but he did learn a valuable lesson. We had a a terrible waitress. Which I had to call a manager about. No fault on Applebee's but I am glad I did call since it turned out she had wrote in her own tip which we did not authorize, went so far to be sure to not leave a pen. The waitress from the start was forgetting things which is crazy because there were only two other customers in the whole place. One customer was at the bar so this girl only had two tables. I didn't get a straw. Then she acknowledged we didn't get all of our breadsticks but does not even bring it out. She goes and sits on her phone. Then when I went to the restroom tried to trick my husband and the poor store. She told my husband their machines malfunctioned and could only charge us a certain amount And the other amount would be charged at a later time. Which after my husband told me this red flag started going off because at most restaurants unless you have the debit cards, you cannot recharge or change the amount to someone's order unless you plan on adding it at the tip section. She Brought my husband the papers to sign without a pen and Knowing this means he wasn't able to sign it and she could literally have put anything in the tips section which therefore made me want to call and get clarification on what she was saying from a manager and I am so glad I did. The manager had no clue what I was talking about. She lied to us and to her management . Also to add She would stay gone from our table for long times and my husband was the only one who was able to get drink refills. Well my son need to go to the restroom but I have not returned from the restroom. So with our to-go boxes and stuff still at the table My husband returns to a almost cleaned table even though she saw me go to the restroom And we literally just asked for to-go boxes and they were still there on the table alongside my son's food. My husband waited while before taking my son. Hoping she would come back before he took him to the restroom to get a pen to sign the papers and leave her a tip. But conveniently the papers were gone. She left my son's food which makes me know that she knew we were in the bathroom.
So all in all my experience at the restaurant was about a A three star but that isn't the normal standard unless you get cheese sticks lol. The other times we've been to Applebee's we did have cold cheese sticks but just like this time they fix their mistakes while we're there.
My experience after the restaurant I would give A five because the Assistant manager was phenomenal. He made sure that she did not get that tip that she gave herself and signed my husband's name to. Had to stand there for a few minutes before anybody even came and sat us down to our table. My kids ordered two kids meals and my husband and I ordered the two for $32 meal. We sat there a while waiting then she brings the kids meals, fries where hard and cold didn’t complain about it because my kids where so hungry they just dug in. My kids where about done with there meals when we finally got our appetizer, I’m confused why it took so long to get our app because it was cold and at that they where not even busy. We ate our app, kids where done still have yet to get our food. By the time time we get our food mine was all the way wrong I ordered bourbon chicken and shrimp no onions with mashed potatos and instead I got a steak and fries so I told the waitress she took my food back waited forever never came back and said anything to me after so long of waiting everyone was done eating. I finally got my food which was wrong again had fries and onions on my chicken. I told her all she said was she was sorry and that she was brand new. I just went ahead and asked her for a togo plate and told her not to worry about it because by this point, I was so frustrated I was ready to get out of there and my kids where ready to go home. The manger had to come and correct the order from there computer by the time I got my receipt to pay it was all wrong she charged me for kids drinks when the kids meals came with kids drinks and then instead of charging me for a two for 32 I got charged individually which came out to $45. My total ticket cost was $70. I told her it was incorrect once again, had to sit there and wait forever I told my husband and kids to just go ahead and wait in the car the manager took forever coming back to correct the order by the time he finally got up there my family was waiting in the car and I was standing by the computer waiting on them to correct my ticket after so many mistakes. I would think that the manager would apologize to me and discount me for something, but didnt even looked at me, nor apologize to me my total was still $52 after a $20 over charge. We sat in there over an hour never getting to eat my food and still getting charged that much never got asked for refills for the drinks or anything. But I feel I just want to share my experience tonight so it gets fixed.. cause I feel when I do visit an establishment like Applebees the money that I work hard for to treat my family out for dinner should be spent well. With that being said.. tonight my wife and 1 year fighter and I decided to finish the rest of the bama game here. Was not busy at all, I’d say in the whole building maby 6 tables and at least 3 or for servers. We order our food Wich was the 2 for 32 and a kids quesadilla. I wanted to try one of the new Halloween buckets and my wife order ed a Shirley temple, my daughter had a kids apple juice. Apple juice came no problem. But our dunks took a while. We got our salad…(no drinks) waited didn’t get checked on didn’t even get offered water while we wait lol. Got our entree (still no drinks). Looked like the bar was chatting it up with regulars wich is fine but still make the drinks! Server still never checked on us until I started looking around at the bar(wich I was really just trying to see the rest of bama game) but another server asked was I still waiting on something I said yes our drinks, she said we are still waiting on bartenders to make them I’d said that’s fine can we just get a couple of waters while we wait.. again we are still eating our food no drink cause we didn’t want food to get cold another 15 mins go by finally got our drinks but no waters and never saw our server again until time to pay.. over all like I said I like the atmosphere here and the food not even that bad but still either need to see what the hold up is behind the bar because it was not busy at all!! Or a little more traing on the server for only having 2 tables.
