I had a truly unacceptable experience at the Home Goods in Dothan, AL today, and I feel compelled to speak out. I purchased a white rug, but the employee who brought it out on a flatbed completely soiled it. The store manager, Erin, was called over, and her attitude was beyond disgraceful. She offered a measly $70 discount on a rug that her store ruined. When I expressed my frustration, she had the nerve to smirk in my face, treating the situation with absolute indifference.
When she called the general manager, Jerry, to ask for a better resolution, he refused to do anything more. Their combined dismissiveness and lack of care about their own mistake was appalling, and Iām confident that racial bias played a part in their refusal to offer a reasonable solution. Erinās behavior was blatantly racist, and it was clear to me that she didnāt value me as a customer because of my race. When I mentioned to Erin that I purchased the rug brand new and that it was spotless before the staff member pushed it out, her response was that in her house when her rugs get dirty she just throws them out and gets a new one. I was totally taken aback! How is it that you purchase an item and then it is damaged by the people you purchase it from and then receive such a highly insensitive response??!! This was belittling, insensitive and infuriating!! The only saving grace was that the staff member who actually damaged the rug was very apologetic, sympathetic and humble. I think she should be highly considered for the managerās position as she obviously has an inclination towards good customer service.
Outside of her, I have never felt so disrespected and demeaned by a storeās staff. Home Goods should be ashamed to employ individuals such as Erin who lack basic decency and professionalism. I will never shop at this store again, and I hope others take note of how they...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet's start with the good. They have stuff you didn't know you needed. If you can't find something to buy here before walking out the door, then you need help. The bad. The bad is, soon as you find something you can't resist, you will not be able to find a price tag on it. I went through this literally on dozens of items. The manager when informed of this didn't really have much to say other than "I can look that up when you are ready to check out." Really! I can load up a basket or two and bring my lunch and let you do just that! Then you can put it all back. How about this instead! Get prices on the shelves and/or products. I highly recommend this store for the...
